I'm Sorry Mr. Singer, You're Not on the List.

Just a quick update before I head out for the weekend. The fine folks over at Filmjerk have gotten a hold of a list that started circulating around the Hollywood talent agencies two weeks ago, listing the 300 projects in active development which have become pre-strike priorities for the major studios and a number of top production companies. Comingsoon.net has now also verified the authenticity of the list.

Curiously the Warner Brothers looks like so:
WARNER BROTHERS
1906 - Dir: Brad Bird
ALTERED CARBON - Dir: James McTeigue
ARRANGED - Dir: Gary Winick
CARPE DEMON - Dir: None attached
CLASH OF THE TITANS - Dir: None attached
THE DIRTY DOZEN - Dir: Guy Ritchie
FARRAGUT NORTH - Dir: None attached
GUARDIANS OF GA'HOOLE - Dir: None attached
HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE - Dir: David Yates
HEART SHAPED BOX - Dir: Neil Jordan
HIMELFARB - Dir: Miguel Arteta
THE INCREDIBLE MR LIMPET - Dir: Chris Columbus
JUSTICE LEAGUE - Dir: None attached, but looking to George Miller
LOSERS - Dir:
MEN - Dir: Todd Phillips
MORTDECAI - Dir: None attached
NIGHTCRAWLERS - Dir: McG
PENETRATION - Dir: Ridley Scott
SHANTARAM - Dir: Mira Nair
SHERLOCK HOLMES - Dir: None attached
SPOOKS APPRENTICE - Dir: Tim Burton
THE TOWN - Dir: Adrian Lyne
YES MAN - Dir: Peyton Reed
Notice anyone missing from that list? Notice someone else who IS there? Didn't we hear things from certain places about a Singerman sequel film still being in development and a script was being "feverishly worked on" by Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum? Well those people dont seem so sure any more, and seem to have switched to the "it will be delayed" defense when they used to be SO sure it was coming in 2009. (You can run, but you can't hide!!)

Obviously not all of those films on that list will develop before the strike as things can and do change in Hollywood, but those are what is in the potential pipeline at the development stage and you'd have thought from everything we'd been hearing Singerman 2 would've shown up on that list. And yes, sequels do show up on this list as evidenced by the Harry Potter listing.

Sorry Restart, it doesn't look like Singerman will fly again in 2009, and God willing, if JLA is done well and is a big hit, we won't ever have to see him again.

Amen to that!

"...if JLA is done well and is a big hit, we won't ever have to see him again."

...and if it isn't I don't think Warners would rely on Singer to save Superman

I wonder how long it'll take Mr Younis to catch up again on this news. Ever notice how long it takes him to post anything about JLA because it looks set to erase the Singerman sequel?

No doubt if he does report it he'll be true to form and post the cavaet "our sources indicate Bryan Singer is still on track...." Man that shit is getting old.

It looks like everyone but Singer's bumbuddy Spacey have moved on, even Brandon fuckin Routh, the human plank, has seen the writing on the wall and commenced his new career of appearing in direct to video releases. No doubt he'll make the same impression in those and will be soon seen begging for a guest shot on "Smallville"

Actually that would be fantastic. Imagine the opportunity of seeing Tom Welling kick Routh's skinny gay ass. Or Routh could pop up serving coffee at Lana's Talon Theater perhaps?

....nah, no point running the risk of Routh destroying Warners' only successful Superman franchise like he did on the big screen

Singer is a FAG and Superman Returns was gay.

Anonymous said...

Superman returns was so gay an investor in San Francisco is looking to open up a gay bar that is Retruns themed, with movie props etc., and wax figures of Routh in costume in provactive poses.
So far licensing hasn't been approved from Warner, as they want to distance Suerman from the gay overtones that Singer has given the character.
Warner feels this whole business venture will further damage the Suprtman franchise.
Singerman gay boys are slobbering over the idea,

Nope, nothing posted about this at all, yet anyway, but when they do, it'll probably have the usual spin like you say, not just with Younis, but the posters as well.

The speculation is crazy at this point. It is clear that WB wants to do a JL movie. Why i don't know it is a shitty idea but they need to address SR as well here. I prefer a reboot in a few years to a JL movie with Welling who sucks as bad as Routh. I don't get why WB won't say anything. Maybe they don't want to have to answer questions about the SR sequel just yet.

"...reboot in a few years to a JL movie with Welling who sucks as bad as Routh." The Comic Book Kid

Hardly.

And you keep on saying this already. Nobody cares no matter how often you say it. The JLA is happening. Keep up.

....and wake up Steve Younis. I see the SHP has been updated and still no word of the confirmation that there is to be NO MOS for 2009.

He's delaying the inevitable in letting his brethren know the obvious truth. Too afraid at the consequences of leading everyone on about the possible sequel being a sure thing.

All we need is confirmation the Welling is in JLA, and brother, Younis's credibility (what's left of it)takes yet another hit

The kid who played Superboy comes over as more mature than fuckin Brandon "numb nuts" Routh.

You could put him in JLA as Superman and people would still forget about Mr Bi-curious Routh.

Anonymous said...

The gymnastics apologists are doing in other forums I check out is absolutely fascinating. "That just means it'll be out later on in 2009. Warners *OBVIOUSLY* wants Robotech to be the summer '09 tentpole. JLA (if it even happens at this point) will probably get moved to 2010."

I mean, wow, talk about being in denial. Right now, Younis is probably trying to get yet another word of reassurance from the Singer camp. "Fret not, fudgepacker fans, the sequel is a-comin'! Forget that there's no budget, no script, no cast, no facilities, no production window, no release date and no sets, by golly it's coming!"

It'd be funny if it weren't so tragic.

Look, if Brandon Routh as Superman were in the JLA film, what would it do to the movie?

Routh's career has already been shit canned, because he will always be associated in the audience's collective mind with the the Gayfest that was Singerman Returns.
He will always be perceived as the "Gay Man's" Superman.
To cast him in the Justice League movie would be tantamount to turning the film into a "Gay's Gone Wild" video.
Routh may be as hetero as they come, but if I were him, I'd be nurturing a festering hatred for Singer for what he has done to my image.
Of course the flip side is, when Numb nuts Routh first saw himself in that dress with an "S" on the chest, he should have ripped it off, burned it, and threatened to walk if Singer didn't provide him with a decent Superman costume. He should have done that when he read the script.

But hindsight is twenty twenty, and Routh's future is screwed no matter how you look at it.

Concerning Steve Younis. his CREDIBILITY ranks right up there with GW Bush.
Consider, I don't know how many of you got to see Brandon Routh's "Myspace" profile before it got pulled, but his photo was horrible. (This was just after his casting had been announced.)
Only Younis himself looks "geekier" than Routh did in that photo.
Of course, Warner studio started issuing his slicked up PR pictures after having that Myspace page pulled.. (Too bad Younis can't benefit from a make over like that)
But even with the pro-make up fix he recieved, Routh bore no resemblance to Superman.
Younis had the gall to publicly claim that Routh "looked more like Superman than Christopher Reeve EVER did, and that's without costume or make up"

That claim is a matter of public record, than can be found by researching, if Younis hasn't deleted the page it's on.
What does a statement like THAT say about Younis's credibility????

Mind you, not the first frame of footage had been shot, and not a stitch of that speedo with the "S" on it had been made when Younis made that declaration.

Younis has made too many statements in the past that reveals
How much he's full of shit.
He once claimed Spiderman 2 was a ripoff of Superman 2.
Bullshit.
Spiderman 2 was based on a very old Marvel comic book story arc entitled "Spider-man, No More!"
If you want to make a claim about which film ripped off what, then Superman 2 was a rip off of the Spiderman comic book story.
(Don't start attacking me, I'm a Superman fan first, I'm just making a point about Youni's credibility)
So fuck the little Gargoyle. I hope he becomes so constipated he has to shit out of his mouth.
He does that anyway, but I want him to have the stomach cramps.

If the "Mud Packer Of Steel" isn't on Warner's list of films to do for 2009, what are Steve Younis, Neal Bailey, and swright going to do with all that KY Jelly they've been saving??

Anonymous said...

I look at it this way.
Bale and Nolan's Batman franchise is safe no matter what the Justice League films turns out to be with another actor in the Batsuit.

EVEN WITH a different actor playing Batman in the JLA, Bale's acting credentials and the success of what Nolan and he did with the Batman franchise assures that.
They took a dead franchise and gave it exciting new life.

The same rule doesn't apply to Singerman Returns. Singer is walking on broken glass with his bare feet as far as Warner is concerned.

A NEW Superman is a DECENT Superman costume that becomes a huge success in the JLA film doesn't translate ANY success whatsoever over to Singerman. (I know this point's been made before).

A hugely popular "different" Superman in the JLA film spells doom for Singer.
Warner's flagship character for superhero films is Superman.
Singer screwed that up for Warner.
A damn good showing of Superman in the JLA is the fix they're looking for (fingers crossed this logic proves to be true.)

I'm pulling for it.

JLA in 2009!

Actually, the similarities are GLARING there.

The alter ego has doubts, is in love, "gives up" his powers to be with her. Villains or villains attack city and threaten the woman he is in love with, powers return and he saves the day. It is NOT an "exact" copy, but they even copied Chris' run down the alley with a shirt rip at the beginning of the film.

Raimi is a HUGE Superman fan, and said he tried following Donner's Superman The Movie when filming Spiderman. I would LOVE for WB to give Superman to him. He would DELIVER like BS could only DREAM OF doing.

I just hope if they can pull it off with rejuvenating Superman this way, that they will do away forever with the way Singerman messed up the franchise. In other words, no kid, there never was a kid, etc. For that matter, forget the whole 5 year absence as well.

The consensus seems to be that fans want a POST-CRISIS SUPERMAN. No disrespect to Donner or Reeve, but I think it definitely wouldn't hurt to breathe new life into the franchise, & that could certainly be one way.

I agree with most of that but as Superman fans we are kind of stuck. We have to take this or get Singerman 2 it seems. Maybe a reboot with Welling in a few years will be great after JL, although i am so so on Welling myself. However this seems like the lesser of 2 evils.

"Actually, the similarities are GLARING there. "

I don't know where you read that Puncher, about Raimi using Superman 2 as inspiration, but it was for the most part Bullshit. He DID get his inspirations from the old Spiderman Comic book story arc, "Spiderman, No More!"
(I wish I still had the magazine with the interview he did about making the film, for he clearly stated that in it, and referred to the comic book story by name.)
As I stated earlier, said comic book story series was done BEFORE Superman2 ever saw film, much less the first Superman film.
"The alter ego has doubts, is in love, "gives up" his powers to be with her. Villains or villains attack city and threaten the woman he is in love with, powers return and he saves the day." All that can be found in the "Spiderman No More" series of books.

There are themes in Superhero films that are redundant and have their foundation in Superman,I give you that, I don't care WHO your particular favorite Super hero is.
Unless your favorite character remains in costume 24/7, at some point in his history he's ran down an alley to change sans Superman. He's done things you've seen done in a Superman comic at some time or other. It's just the nature of the genre.
All of them in some shape or form have imitated themes originated in Superman. He's the foundation of it all in comic book super hero story telling.
From The Mighty Thor to The Atom. You'll find themes and situations mirroring patterns established by Superman.

What I'm saying is Raimi didn't set out to re-do Superman 2 with Spiderman 2.
He used an older source than Superman2 for his film.
Shame on you for defending a Singerman lover.

P.S. Raimi is a self proclaimed HUGE SPIDERMAN FAN, more so than Superman.

He will tell you that in a heartbeat.

Open your eyes a bit next time you watch that film.

It IS just like Superman 2, whether you want to believe he ONLY looked to the comic for "inspiration" or not. Look at Superman The Movie, an origin, followed up by a film filled with "doubt", loss of powers, then redemption in Superman 2. Spiderman? An origin film. It is followed by a film filled with "doubt", loss of powers, then redemption in Spiderman 2. Do you THINK this is just "coincidence"?

And in the realm of film and TV, the shirt-rip IS a Superman ONLY visual image. Show me where Raimi takes FULL reponsibility for that, or where he points out he ONLY got it from the comics. I'm bettign you can't.

And shame on YOU for bringing an Apologist into this conversation. It had NOTHING to do with THEM.

Anonymous said...

Oddly, there's a perhaps unintentional Superman III homage in Spider-Man III.

Hero is exposed to substance is goes bad, inflicting injury/misery on those around him and behaving like a bully. Hero then finds his true inner-hero, sheds the bully persona and takes down the bad guys, one of whom has a change of heart and joins up with the hero.

Whether these similarities are intended or not, they are there.

ApologistPuncher said...

The funny part is, it's not a BAD thing that it's similar. Raimi did it RIGHT. He followed the pattern, but made something NEW and FRESH. Exactly the OPPOSITE of what BS "tried" to do.

I'm guessing Raimi wasn't pre-occupied with doing lines off teenage boys bare buttocks....

Puncher,..Here is a link to IMDb on Spiderman 2 and you'll see that one of the working titles for the film at the time was "Spiderman No More"

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0316654/

Below is the link and text from another source that backs up what I said about the Spiderman 2 film NOT being based on Superman 2.
I'll look for more sources if you wish..

http://www.adherents.com/lit/comics/SpiderMan_NoMore.html

Spider-Man No More
Comparing the classic scene from Amazing Spider-Man #50
with its recreation in the
comic book adaptation of the Spider-Man 2 feature film

One of the most memorable and classic scenes in the history of the Spider-Man comic book character took place in Amazing Spider-Man #50 (July 1967). This issue, titled "Spider-Man No More!" was written by Stan Lee, pencilled by John Romita, and inked by Mickey Dimeo. The cover itself hints at the events that will take place within the story. Page 8 features the classic splash page in which we see Peter Parker walking away from an alley-way garbage can in which he has discarded his Spider-Man costume.

Much of the Spider-Man 2 feature film (2004; directed by Sam Raimi) was based on this particular issue, and the movie features a scene that attempts to recreate this classic panel as closely as possible. The comic book adaptation of the movie shows this scene as well, in what appears to be a close recreation of the panel from Amazing Spider-Man 50. See: Spider-Man 2: The Official Comic Adaptation, Marvel Entertainment Group: New York City (2004), page 30; written by Roberto Agirre Sacasa; pencilled by Staz Johnson, Ron LIm and Pat Olliffe; inked by Scott Koblish and Rodney Ramos; colored by Chris Sotomayor."

Notice this comic book story in which Parker gave up being Spiderman was done in 1967. You have to ask yourself, where did Donner get his inspiration for Superman 2?

Don't get me wrong, I'm first and foremost a Superman fan, but I'm not going to take anything away from Raimi and the excellent film he made.

Like you said, he wasn't doing lines off the asses of minor boys like Singer was in framing Singerman Returns.

I'll tell what I was wondering.

How long is it going to take that Dumb Fuck "Restart" to realize the name he's given himself in connection to Singerman, means to discard the false "start" (Singerman Returns), and "re-start" with a whole new approach?

Every time he signs off as "Restart", his sign off is advocating getting rid of Singer, and start fresh with a new Director. Literally

He's putting a jinx on Mudpacker Of Steel himself every time he posts and signs off.

Nice to see Younis mentioning anything from this article. He'd rather interview the guys who does the voice for Superman (men) on the Legion of Super Heroes cartoon.

Anyone notice the striking similarity of that new "future" Superman to a Mr. Tom Welling? Prepping the young audience for what's to come perhaps?

Younis and Bailey have given the Singerman lovers so much misguided hope that when this thing comes crashing down, they'll be two of the people the Singerman fans are most pissed off at. On top of that, I doubt the Singer camp is even responding to his e-mails anymore (hence the lack of mention on his page).

I don't envy him for what's in store for the next couple months.

Not quite as bad as Lex stabbing Supes...but yeah that screen shot makes you wonder why it in particular was released. Is it supposed to appeal to fans of Superman Returns?? At this rate JLA will resemble a fuckin gay pride march!

What the fuckin hell is going on over at Warner Brothers?? Are they driven to gay up their superhero franchises? Why is Bryan Singer allowed to select promotional screenshots from Warners animated department? Why is Gaylord Younis so excited by such imagery? Why won't Jimmy Olsen stop talking about Clark Kent?

...on the other hand, Smallville IS full of hot, smokin women. As much as I'd like to see Welling in the suit, I'd be just as happy to see Durance without hers!

I need to sit down for a while now.......

Anonymous said...

I got my ass slammed for pointing this out a few weeks ago, but historically speaking, Warner Brothers has an established track record of taking Super hero films and fucking them up royally.

And they're the parent company of DC comics no less.
Just the same, the suits at Warner's have never truly understood the audiences for the genre. NEVER.
It was a cinematic MIRACLE that Nolan was able to serve up for the first time in history, on film, a truly decent Batman movie.
I'm just waiting for the moment sometime after "Dark Knight" for the suits at Warner to step in and "Gay up" Batman to the point that Nolan and Bale BOTH walk away from the franchise.
I've NEVER had faith in Warner when it comes to the big screen treatment of Super heroes.
The Reeve/Superman films went to shit after two, and two was on shaky ground anyway with the silliness the film was awash with, as well as the first film.
The Batman Franchise, starting with Keaton and Nicholson, I don't know how to put this.
That first film was BARELY passable. Jack Nicholson made it tolerable, but every film after it were ever growing full blown Gay parties.
And Singerman Returns is a GLOWING example of gayness running wild. Warner didn't even wait to infuse the character with gayness until a sequel, the kicked him off dripping wet with Gay overtones, subtext, and imagery.

Warnr Bros can't be trusted when it comes to the Super hero genre my friends. We need "Soprano" type thugs standing over these suits at Warners holding guns to their heads, making sure they're doing this shit right, and keeping fudge packing elements out of OUR Super hero films.

Well, another point (and I think its already been made once) is that with a really successful film franchise, studios generally as a rule get a sequel ordered up and move on it in a timely manner.

"Striking while the iron is hot" so to speak.

I mean, there's money to be made and they want to get these sequels churned out.
Dark Knight is coming.

Warner isn't in the slightest bit of hurry to belly up with a sequel to Returns.
There's no rush or financial incentive at all on their part to be anxious in cranking out a Singerman sequel anytime soon.

But the Justice League is a priority.
That's awful damn telling.

Routh better be looking for a day job. I have a feeling his stint as Superman will go down in history as a mediocre entry best left forgotten.
Maybe he should look up Klinton Spillsbury for job tips.

I've been thinking about all these fucking internet rumors.
I used to keep and maintain an adult oriented cartoon site of my own. I don't anymore. (I quit it for personal reasons. Life's tragedies always has a way of having side effects like that.)

It remains up to this day and sees heavy traffic in spite of the fact I haven't updated it in years.
I don't make that statement as any kind of "brag". The point is I got mail. Tons of it. Fan mail.
For a short time I was involved with another site (that shall remain nameless). I dealt with the "webmaster" on a personal basis.
(I hate that term "webmaster". It attaches importance to something that, unless it's actually involved in saving human life, doesn't mean shit. (With all due respect to S.S.S.)

So I'm in personal contact with this guy on a level his website visitors will never attain, and I get to know what kind of person he really is. I say to myself, "fuck this", and I walk away. I do have a sense of ethics.

But I was amazed at the credence and support the visitors to his website gave him. Placing the guy and his opinions on a pedestal. If they knew him like I did, they would be looking for a rope and the highest tree. All they knew was the image he projected.
He nurtured their support and semi-idolization, but with a fake, self depreciating spin.
I could only shake my head.

With these expressed thoughts and experiences in mind, applying them to the Justice League film rumors, and Tom Welling, etc. and etc., I look at the internet and see this same behavior repeated on a sweepingly wide scale by guys who call themselves "webmasters" as if it were a royal title, and their website their kingdom and realm.
(If they actually DO see themselves this way, I imagine their sperm count is zero. Pimples the size of warts.)

I side with S.S.S about the Superman issue and Singer because the guy's right. The film was a gay fest of subtext and imagery.
Take away the special effects, the hail of bullets bouncing off the chest, the eye, the plane saving sequence. Take all of that eye candy away, and all you're left with is something that has nothing to do with Superman, and a character who has none of the personal traits and integrity of Superman. What you have is what Bryan Singer wanted people to see, and it wasn't Superman.

Personally, I think Warner is fully aware that there is a major problem with Singer's handling of the character. I don't know how it's going to play out.
I think people like Younis and Sanchez have their own interests and egos at heart. I don't think either of them know shit from shinola., but they have to keep their followers hanging on their decrees, (with a disclaimer of course.)

So though I may not come across with the blunt force of apologistpuncher, in my opinion he has every right to go after these mindless minions in any fashion he pleases, because they deserve it.
They should stop putting bottom feeders on pedestals.
One thing I can say about S.S.S.
He's not playing those kinds of self deluded games of Godhood, who knows all and sees all. He doesn't have that attitude over keeping a damned website.
He just wants a decent Superman film, and Singer gone. I support him 100% for that.

And I'll be Damned, S.S.S. hasn't once tried to sell me an action figure, imagine that.

I have kept personal records of what you've had to say about Singerman. I won't use them against you, but I DO want to see if you have the balls you pretend to have at the Singerman Homeepage, and in the correspondences you shared with me in the past.
So here's your opportunity. Tell the truth, or lie for your Master, Younis.
We both know you're going to lie.

...and on that, I just finished watching Kevin Smith in London doing the Q & A thing. He states that as much as he liked Returns, Singer made Superman gay.

No arguments there

Singer is a fag, & Superman Returns is gay.

ApologistPuncher said...

Of course he did, he can't do ANYTHING without making it ALL about his lifestyle. It's almost as if he is ASHAMED of being gay, and wants to feel "justified" for being that way by injecting it into his films.

Like I said before, it worked in his X-Men films because there was more than ONE main character, and THAT "sub-plot" was EASILY overlooked. Trying to turn Superman into what he perceived his own life to be was SELFISH and WRONG.

You want to make a homosexual "superhero" in a fetish suit who is creepy and perverted, BS? CREATE YOUR OWN.

Anonymous said...

"You want to make a homosexual "superhero" in a fetish suit who is creepy and perverted, BS? CREATE YOUR OWN."

You know what else is fucking hilarious AND hypocritical Puncher?
I remember when Younis and Bailey did a broadcast analyzing that "fetish suit" when the very first photos of it were released.
It was OBVIOUS at the time that both these guys were uncomfortable with it, but they were going to extreme measures to find positive things to say about it.

One thing they said that caused me to spit coffee in guffawing laughter, was that they would have to wait and "see the suit in motion" before making any final judgments.

Jesus Christ how lame is THAT?!?

A Gay costume looks Gay whether standing motionless or prancing about in "motion". LOL

If you want a precise moment when the Singerman apologist movement began, it was right then when Younis and Bailey were looking for ways to justify Singer turning the Superman costume into a gay "fetish" suit.

It's okay to smile guys, Singerman is dead and we got two great Supes projects coming, the new Doomsday DVD cartoon and the upcoming season of Smallville.
What the fuckin hell is going on over at Warner Brothers?? Are they driven to gay up their superhero franchises?"

They have cast Heath Ledger from Brokeback Mountain fame as the Joker for the Dark Knight. They are definitely staying true to form and taking a step in the wrong direction,

That's what makes me really hope that the rumors of Jake Gyllenhaal as Batman in JLA aren't true. :)

Re: Younis...

"...if JLA is done well and is a big hit, we won't ever have to see him again."

"...and if it isn't I don't think Warners would rely on Singer to save Superman"

"I wonder how long it'll take Mr Younis to catch up again on this news."

"...No doubt if he does report it he'll be true to form and post the cavaet "our sources indicate Bryan Singer is still on track...." Man that shit is getting old."

Younis and his "sources".

Let me reiterate, due to merchandising, and licensing agreements with DC and parent company Warner, Younis has CONTACTS, but they're strictly on a business related level. DC only uses him as a shill, and so does Warner, to promote what they're selling.
He's a whore they use for their own benefit and PR.
So it means absolutely nothing that Younis can call the business offices of Al Gough etc. He and Gough aren't golfing buddies, and Gough isn't obligated to tell him shit.

There's a WORLD of difference between having business related connections, and having an inside "mole" at Warner feeding you information that Warner doesn't want you to have.

I know for a fact Younis has no such "moles", and it's hilarious every time he posts "our sources indicate".
Younis's sources amount to blind luck that someone who really does know something may OR MAY NOT email him some legitimate info.
It's not an inside man that Younis contacts regularly, trust me.
He lives in Australia, and nobody Stateside in Hollywood, (except his fellow ass fucks) likes him.

I know I've said all this before, but I've been around the guy. I watched him beg Singer from the crowd sidelines for an exclusive deal with the SMHP on the Singerman Returns production, only to lose out to BlueNuts.

I'm sorry for repeating myself.

I'm sorry I took the long way around to say it, but yeah, I agree. Younis's shit is getting old.

Anonymous said...

"I'm sorry I took the long way around to say it, but yeah, I agree. Younis's shit is getting old."

He respects his followers so much...that's why his site is the most pop-up ridden web page on the internet.

As Superman would have to have a large following by children, some of the advertising contained in those pop-ups is inappropriate to say the least.

"They have cast Heath Ledger from Brokeback Mountain fame as the Joker for the Dark Knight"

I'm not too worried about Nolan "gaying" up Batman. Nor Miller doing likewise with JLA.

By dropping Singer like they did with Schumacher hopefully Warners are aware and adressing the "camp" overtones

Anonymous said...

"They have cast Heath Ledger from Brokeback Mountain fame as the Joker for the Dark Knight"

"I'm not too worried about Nolan "gaying" up Batman. Nor Miller doing likewise with JLA."

My first impulse is to agree with you.
Nolan and Bale's Batman , although riddled with faults, IS the very best Batman film to date.
Not perfect by a long shot mind you, but awfully damned good compared to ANY studio version before it.
I personally don't like the costume, especially the cowl. But that's personal preference. (It isn't the Gay fetish suit like Singerman's.)

One major flaw with the film was Ra's al Ghul's motive for destroying Gotham City.

THAT bit of plot writing was extremely lame and weak. If it weren't for the handling of Batman's origin and Bale portraying Batman as the scary sonuvabitch he's supposed to be, it could've very well derailed the film.

A much more plausible motive for Ra's al Ghul's attack on Gotham would have been just a sheer insane desire to reek revenge against Bruce Wayne on a large scale.
Trying to reboot civilization by bringing Gotham City to ruin is a fucked up, silly assed scheme worthy of the "camp" days of Adam West.
I also hated the fight scenes in Batman Begins.
I understood the concept the director was going for, of trying to convey to the audience the bad guy's perspective of being hit from nowhere.
But the results were nothing more than jumbled, confused and awkward looking film photography, and Damn it, I don't want a jiggling camera showing agitated close up fight scenes comprised of nothing but knees and elbows, and facial close ups.
I want the camera backed off enough to see Batman in all his glory kicking ass!
I hope Dark Knight dispenses with the fucked up fight scene direction. It doesn't work for me.

Even with these negative criticisms I've made of the film, Batman Begins was far better than any Batman film before it, and outstrips Singerman Returns.
I just don't see Nolan "Gaying up" the franchise....UNLESS he re-introduces Robin in the mix.

I hate Robin, it's never made sense to me for a scary, revenge driven tortured soul like the Batman to take on a child side-kick and put him in harm's way battling psychopaths. It screams Gay.
Batman with Robin is as Gay as you can get, with the exception of Singerman Returns.
My God I just had a horrific thought. If Singer had headed up the Batman franchise, he would have done just that, made Batman and Robin lovers!

Batman should remain a loner. If Nolan brings back Robin in the franchise, I'll stop buying tickets or the DVD.

Miller doesn't seem to be a director that would Gay up the JLA.

However, we're talking about Warner Bros. here, who, as pointed out previously, has an uncanny track record of taking a profitable, successful super hero film franchise, and fucking them up royally.

I just wish Warner had studio heads who grew up super hero comic book fans, and knew what the genre was all about.

ApologistPuncher said...

Christian Bale HIMSELF says Robin has NO place in this Batman universe, so I wouldn't be too concerned about THAT happening.

"Has anyone heard ANY response from BS or ANYBODY regarding Singerman: Madame Of Swish NOT being on the "list"? Hmm? No? What a SHOCK! Singerman shall PEEP no more!"

Younis just hasn't decided on how to spin it yet. His posts ALWAYS has to come across authoritatively, as if he knew the facts beforehand, handed down from God, but withheld the information for whatever fucking "made up" reason he can come up with.
He's not always "Johnny-on-the-spot" fast when he has to be creative under pressure.
LOL..I wonder if he's calling Al Gough? ROFLMAO

The balding asshole can call Al-fucking-Gore if he wanted. WON'T change a THING.

He'll come out and say that the "list" is ONLY for pre-strike, but that somehow Singerman will RUSH into production the MOMENT the strike is over, and be out in 2009. And also that he thinks about GIRLS when he touches his no-no bits.

Both, of course, being COMPLETE falsehoods...

I have read your posts but since there is no offical word from WB and any fool with a computer can type up a list. Hell if you look down the page at Newline there is no Hobbit which they have even given a carrot to PJ to come back to them. But let us assume it is true. This prestrike list gives validation to A)JLA will be a cartoon. B)JLA will make FF4 look like a masterpiece C) to keep costs in line they will hire crappy actors, writers, and make crappy action scenes. Either way the final product will be shit. So even AP has to admit there are things in Returns that were good. So you guys rather have a shit movie then a Superman Sequel. Will wonders never cease. And SSS until I have offical word......It is still..................

Want to know something SAD about Singerman Peeps? I ENJOYED Fantastic Four MORE, and I HATED Fantastic Four!

I saw it for FREE after it came out on DVD, and was bored shitless. But I will take BOREDOM over being OFFENDED any day of the week. And there was ACTION in FF, as well as an ATTRACTIVE female main character. That's what happens when you DON'T leave it up to a GAY MALE to pick your leads.

Then again, the ONLY "people" who LIKED Singerman are homosexuals themselves, so they don't worry about things like that...

Anonymous said...

Except for the casting of the Reed Richards and Sue Storm characters (which were off by fucking ten miles) the FF movies for all their short comings AT LEAST APPROACHED being based on the comic book characters they were named for.
Singerman Returns wasn't Superman.

It was a gay-ed up Donner imitation.

It was a story about a closet gay (presumably Bryan Singer himself) in a fetished-up gay Superman costume contemplating what it would be like to be hetero, and fuck women.
He was a stalker creep and had no conscience about it.

To rephrase, Mel would rather see a gay Singerman film instead of nothing.

Mel would rather see a Gay film instead of nothing.

Fun is fun guys, but I hope we're all doing our own "on going" part to keep the hand delivered mail going to the studio heads at Warner, encouraging them to axe Singer.
It ain't over till the fat lady sings, and I think S.S.S.'s admonishments and drive to oust Singer should be an ongoing war, waged until we get official word from Warner Bros. of victory.

I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass, just an occasional reminder.
Posting here is one way to vent and share our anger at Singer's horrible handling of Superman.
I gag at the very idea of ever viewing the film again.
But making our voices heard at Warner studios, and letting them know they're not getting any of our money for a Singer Superman, ESPECIALLY in that ridiculous costume, means something to them.
Money ALWAYS SPEAKS LOUDEST. Let's keep hammering it home to them they're not getting any of ours, our friends, or our family members as long as Singer is at the helm.
Don't count him out until we get official word from Warner, not some stupid movie or fan site.
I'm sorry if I got on any of your nerves. Just trying to keep the ball rolling . I think S.S.S. has a good idea, and we oughta work together to make it happen.

Judging by the overstocked Singerman Returns DVD's, and those fucked up Routh/Singerman action figures, I don't think there's that much in the way of a "quick buck" being turned.

If Younis had any fucking business sense, he'd be joining the drive to oust Singer, and get some marketable, profitable Superman merchandise based on a rebooted Superman film THAT LOOKS AND ACTS LIKE SUPERMAN.
Younis is letting his latent homosexual tendencies over rule his greed.
OR, maybe he's just content to sell to the gay community and lose the volume business.

Rereading most posts it just insults no facts so let me slap this one around your empty heads.

Lets do JLA first.

Movie gets completly casted(unknowns with no acting talent to keep costs down) and budgeted and locations picked around august of next year. Looking at the rumored script you should be afraid. (batman/flash/gl all have issues and Lex and the evil government try to kill JLA with clone robots...Uggg)

That leaves about 6-7months to shoot including reshoots and FX for a 2009 opening.

I smeell a stinker so should you. If they wait till 2010 thats another year Marvel has 6.3 trillion comic book movies out while WB still sits on their ass.

For Super Sequel!

You got Cast(save for new roles)
You got a Director
You got props you can reuse.
You got fan support for the character.

This movie can be made for 2009!

Restart

My logic even amazes me sometimes. I am so smart let me post your response -"restart retard" &"restarts gay" but like most americans your all just stupid animals easy to predict and control.

Interesting rumor from inamous_emij ayne over at counting down:

"From what I know, everything was pretty set, but then contract wording and legal mumbo jumbo had one side taking a step back and money started getting in the way because of the Smallville contracts BUT....I was assured that it doesn't look like anything that can't be worked out. The only other issue coming up is WB wants actors that Miller doesn't which is why he hasn't been officially announced yet either.

These things all could have changed as it's been about a week since I've had any news other than the pitch for SR2 not being as well received as the Justice League script and Singer again being a whiny little girl about the budget being $55 to $65 million less than what he claims to need.

I can't say this part is true because I wasn't there, but I was told he tried to use the recent budgets of action films like Spider-Man 3 and POTC3 to get what he wants and one person in the room supposedly laughed at him and said Paramount just took a gamble and proved a film loaded with action and special effects doesn't have to cost $300 million. If it is true, that's damn funny."

She sounds pretty sure that it's just a matter of time until it's announced that Welling has the role. I hope so. I've gotten accustomed to the idea of him suiting up for the movie.

In other news, just finished up Superman- Doomsday. Yeah, the plot is a little thin in places, yeah the voice talent kinda sucks, yeah certain things could've been fleshed out a little better, but ya know what? This movie has Superman acting like Superman doing Superman things in a way that only Superman can do them. It's 15 million times the movie Singerman is.

"It's NOT "homophobic" to point out the TRUTH. Just needed to correct you there."

I'm with you Puncher. Singer lied when he said he had no intentions of putting Gay themes in Returns.
The first thing he did was make the costume a Gay man's sexual fantasy. From there on it was a mixture of deity/gay themes and subtext. the Hetero content came across as forced, no substance.
The bastard kid was little more than extra baggage. Lois could've been dragging around a sack of groceries for all the effect the kid had.
It hasn't anything to do with being "homophobic", but it has a great deal to do with the truth.

To borrow from a previous post,

"I side with S.S.S about the Superman issue and Singer because the guy's right.
What you have is what Bryan Singer wanted people to see, and it wasn't Superman."

I agree with every word.
Take away all the super-powers and you have a guy who isn't quite right in the head, and under normal circumstances, would be arrested if caught.
I could go deeper into film analysis, but frankly, it isn't worth it.

"the Hetero content came across as forced, no substance."

Agreed. To watch Routh & Bosworth, even the supposed 'love scene' with the fly-over of Metropolis set to John Williams' 'Can You Read My Mind' theme, to say there was no chemistry there would be an understatement! Cristopher Reeve & Margot Kidder...they're not! Reeve & Kidder had undeniable chemistry, & Kidder wasn't even that attractive a Lois, but at least she could act, & act well. Routh & Bosworth were basically worthless in their inter-action, totally unconvincing. But tell that to the apologists!

I think the girl who played Anara on FIREFLY would make a great Wonder Woman. She definitely is hot enough.

ApologistPuncher said...

Actually, in that scene the LACK of chemistry is BLATANT.

Remember the part where BJ looks at the tomboy while flying over the river? He gives her a smirk, not smile, that said: "I know you want me, but sorry, I don't like girls". There was no "love" in that look, just PITY.

Compare this to S:TM, where Supes catches Lois, and she gives the famous: "You've got me, who's got you??" line. Chris gives a smirk and a little laugh that said: "Silly girl, you're with a MAN. A SUPER-MAN, and I won't let you down".

THAT is what Superman is, NOT a whiney creep who wonders more about what color Jimmy's undies are, then Lois'.

Don't mean to show my ignorance here, but i don't visit the Singerman Homepage. Never.

So, according to you guys, now Younis is talking up the JLA film?
Interesting. So, just for the sake of argument, lets say by the wildest stretch of the imagination, the rumor about Welling suddenly materialized as true.
Does that mean Younis is going to spit out Singer's shlong and start batting eyes at Miller and Welling?
And why does swright post here? I don't get that. Isn't he a Singer lover?

Anonymous said...

"And why does swright post here? I don't get that. Isn't he a Singer lover?"

To be fair to swright he is an admitted fan of Singerman and has posted here in defence of the film. What seperates him from the rest of the apologists here is that he has gone on record many times as being a huge supporter of the JLA with Tom Welling and wouldn't miss a sequel to Singerman if Warners dropped it in favor of the JLA

“And take Jessica Biel, add some black hair dye and, !Voila! Wonder Woman! No one else has the total package like she does.”

I could deal with Biel...but I still have the same problem with her that I do with Welling. She’s a girl, not a woman. I’d like her better as Donna Troy.

It’s kind of a moot point since it isn’t happening…but ideally speaking Superman Returns would have been the fantastic restart should have been, and this Justice League Project would have Christian Bale along with a real man in the role of Supes. Had that been the case, my first choice for Wonder Woman would have been Monica Dean. She’s probably most known for her bit roles on Lost and Nip/Tuck, but check these images out and tell me she doesn’t have the look:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/Sepharih/Monica%20Dean/1.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/Sepharih/Monica%20Dean/df.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/Sepharih/Monica%20Dean/23.jpg

As you can plainly see though, she looks far too mature to stand next to Tom Welling.
Again, I can deal, but I get kind of annoyed when Hollywood casts young like this. Part of what’s appealing about these specific characters is their maturity.

Anonymous said...

LOL. Above post was mine. Forgot to sign my name.

Anonymous said...

"As you can plainly see though, she looks far too mature to stand next to Tom Welling."

She looks great, and is a year younger than Welling.

I don't believe Welling would struggle playing an adult Superman. If anything it's getting beyond belief that a 30 year old is still trying to act as an 18-19 year old Clark Kent.

ApologistPuncher said...

Since WB wants to spin-off "solo" films for the respective characters, keeping them "young" is what is going to happen.

No "dream casts" for ONE and DONE (like Singerman), they are thinking long-term for the JLA film.

Anonymous said...

"Routh & Bosworth were basically worthless in their inter-action, totally unconvincing."

Amen to that. And she got a Razzie nomination to boot! Routh got a career in direct to DVD movies.

One of my theories why Returns was miscalculated came about watching the end of STM the other night. Now we all know Superman can out fly that missle, but as a piece of pacey, action packed filmaking it's amazing. You get to see Reeve's face and expressions as he deperately struggles as if his life depends on it to catch that missle. The guy is allowed to act in action sequence after action sequence. The audience buys into it because of the way it's presented with the effects complimenting the acting, not to mention just good old movie making magic. The editing alone in those sequences are a joy to behold.

With Returns, Superman is largely a blur or a lifelessly rendered CGI, perhaps some strain is shown on Routh's face a couple of times when he lifts something heavy, but it's hard to root for the guy

IMHO that's why Raimi always has Spiderman ripping his face mask or taking it off. There's an actor inside who can involve the audience even more by emoting.

Anonymous said...

...oh and that's why the new Indy film is eschewing CGI and digital cameras. It's back to old fashioned film making.

Anonymous said...

...oh and Reeve's scream of anguish over Lois's death still sends shivers down my spine.

The amount of power unleashed by Reeve is almost terrifying.

It takes more than giving Routh lines from Christopher Reeve to try to get audiences to believe your man can fly, Mr Singer. You should have cast an actor.

“She looks great, and is a year younger than Welling.”
Yeah, but my point was that if you put them alongside each other you’d never guess it. She has a more mature look about her, whilst Welling is all baby faced. She and Bale would fit perfectly, but Welling wouldn’t quite fit.

“Since WB wants to spin-off "solo" films for the respective characters, keeping them "young" is what is going to happen.”
As mentioned above, Dean would still technically be young enough that you could do her franchise before age started to really become a major issue. I was referring more to the fact that they’re probably going to cast in relation to Tom Welling’s Superman, which isn’t exactly a bad idea. Even though I think Dean would be a better choice for the character, Welling and Biel would be a better match on screen.

“With Returns, Superman is largely a blur or a lifelessly rendered CGI, perhaps some strain is shown on Routh's face a couple of times when he lifts something heavy, but it's hard to root for the guy”
I was actually discussing this with someone else the other day believe it or not. Fire up your dvd player and watch the plane rescue sequence in Singerman (assuming you have a copy) versus the train rescue sequence in Spider-man 2 (I know you have this one). See the difference? I’ll do you one better, pick up a copy of the first season of Bruce Timm’s Superman The animated series and watch the plane rescue sequence in episode 3.
Out of all of those, which one of them was the least exciting? Singerman’s may have been the most technically impressive for its usage of CGI, but it’s obvious which one had the least amount of thrills.
I have a quote from Roger Ebert where he sums it up very nicely I think:

“As for Superman, he's a one-trick pony. To paraphrase Archimedes: ‘Give me a lever and a place to stand, and I will move the universe.’ Superman doesn't need the lever or the place to stand, but as he positions himself in flight, straining to lift an airplane or a vast chunk or rock, we reflect that these activities aren't nearly as cinematic as what Batman and Spider-Man get up to. Watching Superman straining to hold a giant airliner, I'm wondering: Why does he strain? Does he have his limits? Would that new Airbus be too much for him? What about if he could stand somewhere?”

First of all, this Blog wasn't created for the purpose of "Defending" Singerman Returns.

swright can do all of that at SMHP. No one here gives a shit about the movie, and it shows a great lack of intelligence to presume you're accomplishing anything here by doing it.
Retard (Mel)is a perfect example of that. So essentially you're telling me swright is in the same league as retard, except he knows how to spell and frame a sentence.

You're also telling me he's a fence straddler. He's perfectly happy with a "gay-ed up" Superman,(It's been pointed out repeatedly that the costume is a gay man's sexual fantasy, and that is a dead on appraisal) but if a REAL representation comes along, he's happy to switch sides.

swright doesn't sound like someone with character traits I would want in a friend, much less defend.
They're more befitting someone that would stab you in the back at the drop of a hat.
Your typical SMHP shit head.

Your statements only LIGHTLY touch on what infuriates me about people making comparisons between Routh and Reeve.
THERE IS NO COMPARISON. (Mind you, I'm an old fart. My favorite, warmest memories of Superman is George Reeves. It's not bias that I'm speaking from)
Christopher Reeve ACTED in STM. And as you pointed out, he ACTED through out the entire film.
The agonizing scream at Lois's death, his inability to accept it, and the decision to change it. Powerful stuff.
In Returns, Singer substituted the lack of acting by having Routh lifting things.

At best, Routh was a poor Reeve mimic.

No electricity between him and Bosworth whatsoever. Absolutely forced was the best description I've seen so far.
The movie was a horrible imitation of a Donner film, too much underlying gay subtext alternating with deity ramifications.
Someone needs to inform Singer that if there is indeed a God, then as Creator he established the manner in which we as a species procreate. Therefore, the idea that "God" is Gay doesn't quite fly.

Returns was simply a piece of shit.

On another point, this is NOT the era to re-introduce a Donner themed Superman. It's too late, Singer did it, but it was a huge blunder on his part.

Somehow I find it hard to believe Warner isn't aware of the problem it has on its hands with Singerman. The flip side of the coin is Warner has never been the sharpest knife in the drawer when it came to handling super hero films over the long haul. They've always demonstrated in one way or another a complete lack of understanding of the genre.
Batman Begins stops short of being a miracle when you consider it came out of Warner studios.
Singerman Returns is more the standard for Warner. Screwing up royally.

Anonymous said...

"Somehow I find it hard to believe Warner isn't aware of the problem it has on its hands with Singerman."

The strongest evidence of that is the fact Warner has bypassed making Singerman's Mudpacker of Steel sequel a priority, and has opted instead to go full steam with the Justice League first for 2009.

Warner bros isn't going to invest heavily in a JLA film, then turn around and hurt their own box office returns by competing against it themselves. That's idiocy.

"...this is NOT the era to re-introduce a Donner themed Superman. It's too late, Singer did it, but it was a huge blunder on his part."

Exactly. The Donner film is a period piece. A great superhero movie to be sure, but Superman has moved on.

I maintain that by trying to tie Returns to the Donnerverse was Singer's big mistake (other than casting etc). By doing so he alienated both camps. The audiences who knew via things such as "Lois & Clark", "Smallville" and even the comics, that Clark/Superman had moved on, and the Donner camp who were offended by Singer's hamfisted take on what had been established.

Singer managed to piss off people who were willing to pay money to see the film because their faith in the concept of Superman and what it means was simply not delivered

Anonymous said...

"Singer managed to piss off people who were willing to pay money to see the film because their faith in the concept of Superman and what it means was simply not delivered"

Now THIS is what I call honest discussion and assessment of Returns, and its effects on ALL Superman fans, no matter WHAT your PERSONAL VISION of him IS.

God, how long has Superman been around? 68 years?
Think about it. With all the different incarnations and reboots ranging thru decades in comics, through radio, movie serials, television, and major motion pictures....NO ONE MAN has done more damage and harm to the character, and has caused more conflict and ambivalence among Superman fans, than Bryan Singer.

"Singer managed to piss off people who were willing to pay money to see the film ..."

And that's EXACTLY WHY Returns did so lousy on the domestic front, and took ALL SUMMER to finally break the 200 mil mark at the box office.
Word of mouth spread like wildfire, and the fact that Returns had made the official list of one of the slowest films to break 200 mil in history speaks to that.

On a side note, a scientific study was done on Superman fans. (I'm not making this up, I just never thought of keeping a record of it because I never thought I would ever need to reference it.)

Long story short, the study found that Superman fans fell far short of ever coming close to mirroring the character traits of their super hero idol.
It didn't mean they were bad people. It meant they were human, and as much as they would like to, attaining and maintaining the standards set by Superman just seemed impossible to them in real life according to the study.
The paradox is, just like religious hypocrites, you have factions living a lie, and perpetuating it.(Retard is a good example,as well as other apologists.) They express their ugliness, but pretend they don't have it in them.

I bring this up because THESE are the folks who want to pretend they're taking a superior, enlightened position, over a Damned movie that has stirred up nothing but negative emotions, and at times, out right hatred.
In layman's terms, they're fucked in the head. Living in denial.
So here we are, every kind of Superman fan there is, and we're at each other's throat.

Singerman supporters can say what they want, but we have every right to feel the way we do, and the fault lies squarely at Singer's feet.
He thought if he disguised Returns as a Donner film, he could do whatever he wanted within that framework, and get away with it.
What he gave us wasn't Superman, and NO Superman fan should be embracing it, I don't care who you are. Ahh, but there's the rub. The line drawn in the sand. The division.
Just the same,...
Not all of us reacted to the film like Deer caught in the glare of headlights at night, standing there dumb, not knowing what we're seeing till the shot is fired.

I'm still waiting for a REAL Superman film, and hopefully I'll see something akin to it in the JLA movie.
The Apologists, IF they TRULY believe they are trying to emulate the character traits of their idol, should have the decency to keep their mouths shut and keep to the SMHP, where their opinions are welcome. We aren't Singerman fans, we're not going to be, and we never will be.
This blog wasn't founded for Singerman fans.

Welling may have turned it down, being in the Justice League I mean.
The guy has been playing Clark for years now on the small screen. As an actor, he may want to get away from "Superman" rather than be further buried in the role in theatrical films.

Another rumor has it that Routh is scratching at the door at Warner, still begging for the part.

A HUGE mistake for Warner if they let him have it. They need to distance the Justice League Superman as far from the Singerman debacle as possible.

Anonymous said...

From countingdown.com

"It's not over til the fat lady sings...

I just got a call from my usual source. It's true that Welling did not sign. However, I was told yet again that they plan to keep working on a deal. They are also looking at other actors, but Welling is still their #1 choice.

The 5 contract signings did turn out to be false. There were 3 but none of them involved actors.

Also, Man of Steel is done. Dead. Gone. The studio execs have decided if another Superman film is made it will be a restart as they did with Batman Begins. Routh was told the news about a week ago. Being under contract for MOS, he was guaranteed a shot at keeping the role. I didn't like that info, but oh well.

So that's it for now. All we can do is hope and pray for a deal to be worked out but it looks like the triangle of WB, Smallville's producers, and Welling were unable to figure things out before Miller signed his deal.

I'll keep you all updated as I hear things. "

Anonymous said...

Routh in JLA? There is no logic, captain. If they wanted to keep that twit in the cape, the easier play would've been going ahead with 'Singerman 2- Man of Donner' rather than JLA. They might say they'll give him a shot but I somehow doubt it.

And let's say Welling *is* out of JLA. Scuttlebut seems to be that whoever's Superman in JLA is only getting a one-shot deal anyway. According to the countingdown chick, Warners wants a new face for a new solo Superman movie. One wonders how easy it would be for Welling to get *that* part, when SV will have wrapped anyway.

Either way, we won. Singerman is dead. As long as Routh doesn't get into JLA, we can safely put that chapter of our lives behind us, right?

Not for me. Honestly...I look at this as only one round...which by most accounts we seem to have won (yay us). But the fight isn't over.

As I've said before, even if Singer was blacklisted for the rest of his life over this what would that really mean to us? We're more than Singerman critics here...we're Superman fans. The fight isn't over for me until Supes gets a proper movie treatment, even if it's in a Justice League movie.

And oh yeah, keep Routh as far away from this project as possible.

Anonymous said...

"And oh yeah, keep Routh as far away from this project as possible."

Couldn't agree more. Hopefully his meeting with Warners that's been commented on was to break the bad news that he's no longer required. I just worry that he's being kept in the loop in case other casting choices drop out. Then again I can't imagine Miller putting up with an actor so wooden as Routh and the baggage casting him would bring to the JLA.

The funny thing is now Younis has been proven wrong, there won't be MOS in '09 as he keeps repeating from his "insiders" The other funny one is Sanchez who can't win. He broke the Welling rumor, then has announced that Welling's out yet emijayne at countingdown (who has been spot on for months) claims he's not out yet.

As long as Routh & Singer are out, I'm happy

See, the ONLY hope they had, was a VARIETY STORY stating Horn was "considering" a BS sequel. They were LEGITIMATE then, but aren't now? Huh? They are ONLY "right" when it suits the Apologist agenda? All I have to say to THAT is: Fuck YOU, Apologist feces stains. YOU lose!

"Not for me. Honestly...I look at this as only one round...which by most accounts we seem to have won (yay us). But the fight isn't over."

I totally agree. I don't think the letter campaign to oust Singer should stop either.
As I wrote to S.S.S in a private email,..."assumption breeds complacency, and a false sense of security. We can't control what Warner decides to do, but I don't think we should ease up on trying to influence that decision."

This IS only round ONE. Warner has signed on to do the JLA, and has hired Miller and casting directors. There's a script that's been green lighted, but we've ALL seen movie deals fall apart as quickly as they have come together.
(Look at all the false starts with Superman before Singer got his chance to REALLY screw up the franchise.)

Warner's official position now is to put the Singer sequel on indefinite hold. I think we should work even harder to make sure it remains so.

The second part of the game plan is to fight for a REAL Superman film.
Hopefully, the JLA film can be a spring board for just that. But in the meantime, we should continue to bend Warner's ear.

My favorite? 'I won't believe MOS has been cancelled/delayed/dragged out into the street and shot/whatever until WB officially announces it!!'

Umm, I don't know anything about Hollywood or The Business or anything, but, uh, how the hell often do movie studios announce cancellations???

I DO, and they DON'T. Hollywood just acts like it NEVER EXISTED in the first place. So these fucking shitbirds will hold onto that DELUSION, because they DON'T have ANYTHING left. Living in a state of DENIAL is a sign of mental health issues, and these assholes need HELP.

Then again, being an Apologist is ALSO a sign of mental health issues, so these bastards are DOUBLE-FUCKED.

The casting rumors for this film are out of control.

I really hope in the end it turns out to be Welling, Reynolds, Beil and Gosling.

They announce the project has been put on the "back burner" then fast track another film with a seperate production team and cast.

Oh, that's already happening?
