Bryan Singer: "Ok, Ok, My Superman SUCKED""
Hello everyone. Long time no see....
Anyway, just thought I'd drop by and post a link to an interview Bryan Singer gave to the LA Times, where he makes a "startling" confession:
"I genuinely like the people, and my personality meshes more with this universe than it does with other universes, I think; I see that now at this point," Singer said, no doubt referring to his defection to the DC Comics universe to make the oddly lifeless 2006 movie "Superman Returns." "I feel a connection to the X-Men characters and also the ensemble nature of the films. If you look at 'Usual Suspects'' or my last film, 'Valkyrie,' I feel especially comfortable with ensemble juggling. In the space between all the characters you can disguise a central thought that's hidden in all the discourse. I missed that with the singular relationship story of Superman. And, well, it always gives you something to cut to..."

Not a surprise to some of us, now is it? But this should give the few remaining Apologists a much needed "kick in the pants", shouldn't it? With the news that Christopher Nolan is "godfathering" a Reboot, and that it will be a FUN movie, I'd say right about now it's a GOOD TIME to be a fan.
Singerman is dead. Long live Superman!!

FIRST! As duh apologists say! And let's go ahead & get THIS out of the way:
"Singer is a fag, & Superman Returns was gay."
With that being said, notice how Singer himself states that in his films he likes to 'disguise a central thought that's hidden in all the discourse'. Gee, what could THAT be?! Do you SUPPOSE that's what he did when he tried to 'gay up' Superman, er-I mean, SINGERMAN?! ;)
And one more thought. How come Eunuch is the ONLY one I see reporting that the next Superman film is gonna be in 3-D?! Great if it is, but how come I don't see that article at SHH also?!
Singerman Apologists are more stubborn than the Star Wars nerds who swore up and down for years that The Phantom Menace was worth the wait. Nowadays, they're all backpeddling and stating the obvious about badly George Lucas dropped the ball. Singerman fans still to this day rave about what a financially profitable masterpiece it was. If that was true on either count, the Singer-helmed sequel that continued the Returns story would've come out by Summer 2009 at the latest. I'm also sick of the apologists dragging Batman Begins' good name through the mud by obsessively comparing the two films. The reason Nolan got a chance to do a sequel even though his original didn't set any box office precedents was because it was an undeniably great superhero film that did gangbusters on dvd. Singerman was an unmitigated piece of shit and viewing it in a home setting only magnified its flaws.
Good point about BATMAN BEGINS. Sure, its' box office was fairly modest, but there's more to it than that. First of all, it had to overcome the stigma of BATMAN & ROBIN. I think some viewers initially had reservations due to THAT fiasco! But like you said, it did GREAT on DVD. I think when people found out how GOOD it was, they came on board. You could say it was a 'sleeper' of a film that came into its' own. Personally, I myself like the 1989 Batman film BEST of all, but Begins is a decent reboot since a reboot was obviously necessary. I LOVED the Burton film but I feel like it went downhill AFTER that. With Nolan's reboot it started off smaller & worked its' way up to THE DARK KNIGHT which REALLY exceeded expectations at the box office.
Singerman Sucks, OTOH, was a dismal crock of a film, even if its' international box office WAS about 20 million more than Begins. Begins just continued to get GOOD word-of-mouth, while Singerman was actually HURT by that same WOM. A wimpy emo Superman who DESERTED Earth for 5 years, yet when he returned, he was met with a standing ovation by everyone EXCEPT Lois, if you could call THAT Lois! Do you see anything wrong with this picture?!
I know we're not ALL on board with the Nolan idea, but I DO believe we'll at LEAST have a SUPERMAN film on par with TDK in EVERY respect & it WON'T be a 'blown' budget. Just had to get that jab in there! ;)
Yes, but these are the same ass-munchers who says Singerman Peeps was "epic", and that BJ " wuz purrfeck as Swooperman n he realy inbody da karaktor!!!", so we won't take THEIR opinions seriously, ok?
Plus, I have a feeling the same few fat bitches go around using different names on different message boards to make it look like they are some sort of "majority". But the fact that they ALL spell the EXACT SAME WAY ruins that little "ruse".
And when they use names like "NightWhackOff1977", it makes them look even MORE pathetic....
"Plus, I have a feeling the same few fat bitches go around using different names on different message boards to make it look like they are some sort of "majority". But the fact that they ALL spell the EXACT SAME WAY ruins that little "ruse"."
I can think of one off-hand who does exactly that.
Back to what non-amos was saying though, BB had a lot to overcome. Schumacher had done a lot to damage Batman's credibility in the ten years before BB came out. The fact that BB did as well as it did should say something.
Stalkerman didn't have those same handicaps. Singer was following STAS, JL/JLU and Smallville, each of which had/has a strong, devoted following. On top of that, the S-symbol had become a fairly popular fashion item over the years.
Put another way, Singer had the wind at his back when he was making that abortion of a movie. And guess what? Singerman got friggin trounced even in territories where Pirates 2 came out FIRST (a sad fact that most Apologists either don't know or else will only reluctantly admit to). Singerman was dogshit from start to finish and only BARELY scraped $200 mill in the US because of the IMAX release (which itself probably cost more to produce than the $5 mill extra it gained so even that's a loss).
At the end of the day, Singerman proves that the Superman name and the S-logo will earn about $190'ish million dollars all by themselves (because that piece of shit movie had nothing else going for it besides those things that would interest anybody except fat divorced women with self-esteem issues).
Since I'm here, welcome back to active duty SSS and AP. Also, congratulations on helping however/whenever you did helping us get a REAL Superman movie instead of more emo Singerman crap. I've been waiting for either SSS or AP to rub yet more salt in the Apologists wounds, and I wasn't disappointed.
This was the first page I found back in June 2006 that didn't drink the Kool-Aid, instead telling the truth about Singerman and the myriad ways it sucked and failed on all possible levels.
I'm not convinced we're out of the woods yet though. I don't think Chris Nolan is necessarily any better suited for the character... but unlike a certain other director I can think of, he at least seems to understand that and is instead producing the movie rather than trying to alter the character and the universe to fit his own sensibilities.

It took a little while, but I ALWAYS enjoy putting it to the Apologist turds.

Same thing here, actually. And when I saw how the Apologists were "defending" that ABORTION, I saw R-E-D.

I think he will let the writers and directors do their own thing, but WON'T let a Singerman Peeps happen again. You know, a director bullshits the studio into 100% control, then slops together a horrid "remake" of a nearly 30 year old movie.
But I definitely need to hear more about this reboot before I give it a "thumbs up", but I am CONFIDENT it will be light-years better than Singerman and BJ the Bartender.
Singer is a FAG and Superman Returns was gay.
Will Nolan be bringing back Asthmatic Rape Spawn? That little kid was adorable, and refreshingly unaffected emotionally by being the product of forced, unconscious sexual entry.
Again, AP, I admire your optimism (and I'll even agree that we have nowhere to go but UP at this point) but after Stalkerman, the Superman junkie in me is scared shitless that the reboot will suck. I sincerely can't imagine anything worse than Singerman (strike that, Singerman 2- Pleather Boogaloo would've been worse) but still.
Do we at least know for sure that BJ Boy is gone yet?

I am not that worried, to be honest. I'm not convinced, but not too worried either.
Now if casting starts, and we here some CRAZY names tossed-out for Superman, THEN a new Blog may be in order...
"Do we at least know for sure that BJ Boy is gone yet?"
Nolan's "toss away" comment about Singerman Peeps is ALL the confirmation we are going to get.
Think about this for a second:
If The Brothers Warner had ANY "faith" in BJ the Bartender, don't you think they would have offered him at least ONE leading-role in the 5 years since he played Singerman? The fact that they DIDN'T goes to show that they saw the same "acting" WE did.
The ONLY way BJ would suit-up again would be if WB FORCED them to take him.
And that ain't happenin'....
Good to see the same five faggots circlejerking each other after all this time.
while the cum dribbles off your chins you better pray that Chris Nolan can actually make a Superman movie. Not a single film in his career shows he can actually do something that wouldn't be more depressing than Superman Returns, not a single one.
"Good to see the same five faggots circlejerking each other after all this time."
I bet you say the same thing every time you come home from school, 'eh?
"while the cum dribbles off our chins"
Ewww. We don't need to know how depraved you and your family is, dude.
It's just SICK...
"you better pray that Chris Nolan can actually make a Superman movie. Not a single film in his career shows he can actually do something that wouldn't be more depressing than Superman Returns, not a single one."
Quit crying, you homo-bitch. The proof will be in the pudding.
Of course the cock smoker Singer would say something like that.......missing the point that Superman has been an ensemble piece for years, long before his beloved X-Men were ever thought of......Supes/Clark. Lois, Perry, Jimmy etc, etc, etc.....No, not much of an ensemble there......
What the fag means is that he failed to understand the heterosexual relationships in the Superman franchise....He still doesn't get it by his statement of a "singular relationship"....
Thank fuck Warners have kicked the fag the fuck out, like we predicted they would.
Father Finian
Don't you just love how the Apologists have shifted their arguments over the years?
2006- "Singerman is the greatest thing ever! Singer for President!"
2007- "I can't wait for Singerman 2- Man of Pleather! The first one was a little weak though."
2008- "The first Singerman really wasn't all that great but bring on Singerman 2- Madame of Swish! And keep Routh!"
2009- "NOOOOO, DON'T REBOOT!! Singerman sucked but Singer can do better next time!"
2010- "Reboot? Just make sure to keep Blandon Routh, he's so dreamy!"
It's over. You have lost. Take your little petitions and Routh fanboy ramblings back to SHH and the other Chud-chokers.
Even Ap agrees that Brandon was the best superman....
RestART
REfart is a fag, & Singerman Returns was gay.
Sorry, no BJ suck-sites are going to "pimp" themselves out HERE.
"Even Ap agrees that Brandon was the best superman....
RestART"
Actually, I agree that BJ is a hero to you homo-gay's, and that you would all "honor" him on bended knee's.
But that's as far as my agreement with YOU queen's goes.
Brandon was much better then Reeve ever was.
REstart
"Brandon was much better then Reeve ever was."
I'm guessing Christopher Reeve's accountant disagrees with you there, chuckles.
We all LAUGH at you pathetic Apologists nowadays. Does it hurt inside, knowing you will NEVER see BJ in anything Superman-related ever again?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I dunno, I'd love a sequence in the next movie where Superman scraps down with Brainiac and punches him into a convention hall doing a con at the time.
There we see BJ The Bartender in full Singerman regalia so Brainiac is all "dude, who the hell are you supposed to be? SUPERMAN?! Okay, I'm no admirer of Superman, Rao knows, but, uh, he wouldn't be caught dead in those Daisy Dukes and Ace Frehley boots. And the S-texturing on the body suit? The Halloween costume symbol belt? Dubya Tee Eff is that supposed to be about? How insecure do you think the guy is anyway? What kind slobbering, drunken nitwit would EVER put SUPERMAN in an outfit that ridiculous?! And a wine-colored cape? Are you shitting me?!"
And so forth.
The Apologists would get to see their little BJ in the Singerman bikini one last time so you'd think they'd be all for it.
Quick! Someone call Goyer!

If DC wants any continuality like Marvel Brandon will get the Job.
Trust me DC will do what is Best BRandon RoUth for SUPERman!
restART
Restart is like the punch-drunk boxer who doesn't know when he's lost.
But dude? You've LOST. The game's over, has been since 2006, Blandon BJ ain't coming back. WB fired the high school writers, then fired Singer and BJ The Bartender's contract has long expired.
It's over. Go back to France.

"If DC wants any continuality like Marvel Brandon will get the Job."
You know what's funny? There is a "spell check" here in this little box where you post your messages. If a word is spelled incorrectly, or is a word that DOESN'T EXIST, it tells you. Pretty easy to follow, right? Well, leave it up to a homosexual Apologist to DISREGARD IT, and use a word like "continuality"! Fucking brilliant!
Anyway, we are going to have to deal with fat bitches and 'mo's spouting the same delusional bullshit until the actor is cast for Superman. Just like in every Presidential election, Gilligan get's write-in votes. There is just ALWAYS going to be fucking REtard's out there...
http://www.aintitcool.com/node/46110
Above proves that Routh is coming back. Read and weep. There is a big push to have him come back and he will. FAt stupid americans I guess can't read or click on the link. Monkeys!
REstarT
http://conventionfansblog.com/2010/08/08/scott-bakula-and-brandon-routh-added-to-dragoncon-2010-guest-list/
And the above proves he is NOT, dingleberry.
How sad it must be for you Apologists, to see lil ol' BJ stuck stumping at conventions for cash.
And get this!
http://www.craigdamon.com/DCon-10.html
The homo-brood ONLY has to pay $65 for a picture with him!! $65! What fucking REtard is going to pay that douchebag for a PICTURE??
This is just too good to be true. We all predicted this would happen, and it has begun!!
BJ Routhman is definitely coming, eh?
"Brandon Routh: Well, you know, he knows that I’m here and I would love to have the opportunity to at least sit down with him and talk to him about the character because it’s a character that’s near and dear to my heart and even if I’m not the guy to continue on, I care that whoever does takes care of it and cherishes it. There was a great line before me; a great history behind it and it deserves to be taken care of."
Those don't sound like the words of someone who's positive he's coming back. It sounds more like someone who's been ignored (and rightly so) and has now accepted that the boat has sailed.
So should you, Restart.
SINGER, YOU'RE A PIECE OF SHITTT DIRECTOR. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STOP MAKING FILMS THAT MAKE PEOPLE HATE THE ORIGINS FROM WHICH THEY CAME FROM. YOU'RE RUINING THE INDUSTRY YOU FUCKKK-TARD. I AND MANY PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD FUCKINGG HATE YOU.
