Tom Welling in Talks to be the JLA Superman

Take this with a BIG grain of salt but "Dirty" Sanchez just reported on G4's "Attack of the Show" and also over on IESB that Warner Brothers is in talks with Tom Welling and the Smallville producers to get him as the Superman for the JLA movie, which is a live-action film BTW with CGI motion capture in it. (Kudos to the fine gentlemen at CHUD for calling that one a few days ago.) Again, it's IESB so take it with a grain of salt since they've spit the bit on more than one occasion recently. He also said he thinks it will have no bearing on whether Singerman II gets made or not. How that works? I dont know.

UPDATE: Here's a clip of the interview:

UPDATE: Apparently SMHP called "BS" on IESB after, for some unknown reason, asking Al Gough and expecting him to give them an honest response (Hey Younis, ever hear of an NDA??). Then IESB just called BS right back on SMHP. It's like a battle to see who can be the least credible. Grab your popcorn folks.

UPDATE: 8/25 - IESB is STILL pretty sure of themselves. Boy, are they going to get burned if this doesn't pan out.

UPDATE: 8/30 - The KryptonFan Podcast interviewed both Dirty Sanchez from IESB and Steve Younis from SMHP about their "nerd off" last Friday. Sanchez still seems pretty darn sure of himself, and seems to able to at least speak "somewhat" intelligently about the situation. He also mentions a certain "blog" that dislikes Bryan Singer, although I don't think we've EVER said we had anything against the X-Men movies?
Steve Younis on the other hand, adds virtually nothing other than reiterating how he ran to Gough and Gough told him "no." Not once does he even breach the possibility of Gough not being able to talk to him.

UPDATE: 9/2 - Looks like you can score an early one for "Dirty" Sanchez as they appear to have announced casting directors for New York, Toronto, and, strangely enough, Vancouver, where incidentally, a certain actor films a Superman TV show. They've also posted script sides for some lesser roles in the film.

More on this as it becomes available.

I really don't think WB is going to say anything official about SR for some time. Looks like they want to keep their options open still with the sequel. If JL is a huge hit and Welling is in it maybe they do a solo Superman movie with him, we'll see.

swright said...

Ok...I'm an apologist, but I'm going to be completely honest here. This has me so fucking jazzed. As a long time Smallville fan, to get to see him finally become Superman will make sitting through some of the shit Smallville fans have had to sit through completely worth it.

I know IESB said it's not going to affect the MOS but I just don't see how that can not affect it. Batman is a bit different if you never see him as Bruce Wayne you can just imagine that Bale is in the suit.

Have to say, I'm extremely happy about this. All I want is to see Superman continue on screen and TW as Superman is something I wanted before Returns.

Anonymous said...

Yeah i think it will effect SR. Like i said i think WB wants to keep their options open about the sequel so don't expect them to can Singer anytime soon. However if JL is a huge hit i would imagine most of the WB brass would just want to do a solo Superman movie with Welling, taking off on the JL movie he was just in.

S.S.S. said...

Not sure how I feel about this. I love the thought of seeing Welling as the fully realized Superman, and if you think about it, this is realistically the only way you get him into a movie without taking the rest of Smallville with him by not having any of the other characters in the script. Although I wouldnt mind seeing Rosenbaum, who owns Spacey's Lex by leaps and bounds.
However, I think it's just greedy for WB to think they can do Singerman, Batman, AND JLA together. Batman had a respectable bottom line. Singerman had a poor one. What is a JLA film going to have if you'v got market saturation already in the superhero market? They'd be better served killing Singerman, letting Nolan's Bat franchise be left alone, and then starting up a JLA without Batman.
That being said, keep in mind this is IESB and their track record in regards to this movie and a Singerman sequel has been absolutley awful. If I hear it from the guys at CHUD, AICN, or SHH! I'd feel better about it.

I don't see how Tom Welling as Superman can *not* affect Singerman 2. IESB can say whatever they like about Warners continuing the Singerman franchise, but they're in Singer's pocket and that's where they'll stay until the bitter end.

I'm loving the apologists reactions so far. Some of 'em still seem to think that Singerman 2's coming in 2009. They are a persistent bunch, you have to give them that.

"Brandon who?"

If you are referring to me you don't read to well. I said i think WB wants to keep their options open about the sequel but if JL is a huge hit that a Welling solo Superman movie is much more likely.

I for one hope that Routh can shallow his pride and do an episode of Smallville this coming season.

It would be great to see him next to this generation's real Man of Tomorrow, Welling.

Besides its not like he's getting anymore national roles anytime soon with Singerman 2 dead in the water and his career DOA.

ApologistPuncher said...

Remember the 12 or so clips IESB had prior to Singerman coming out? Until their "master" tells them they can "give up the fight", they'll continue to TRY. Just look back to their obscenity-filled FANBOY-gasm on Brandon "My Career Went" Routh recently.

Like I said, once JLA is about to come out, and WB offers them "exclusives" again, they'll be sampling George Miller's "Fromunda Cheese".

I love watching these Apologist bitches try to "save face" now. You shitheads LOST, time for you to fuck off!

I think its great that they’re also trying to get producers from SV to be apart of the JL project seeing that alot of SV’s producers have actually been involved with the Supes comics for example Jeph Loeb. Also let’s not forget that the show’s two main executive producers Millar and Gough crafted the screen story for Spiderman 2, the most successful superhero outing ever on the big screen.

Along with the fact that it was all the positive buzz from the Justice episode of SV that set the whole JL project into motion all be it aided by the commercial and word of mouth failure of Singer’s SR.

Remember, you heard that JLA is scheduled to start filming whilst Smallville is in hiatus/wrapped here first!

^^^
Of course if the JL movie is a huge hit, WB will do a solo film with Welling as Supes, this film is meant to be a launching pad for their entire collection of failed hero projects other than Nolon’s Bats.

WB’s dream best case scenario is that this film is a huge hit and see’s X3 or Transformers like numbers at the box office and from there WB/DC can pull a Marvel and springboard a bunch of hero films specifically The Flash and Wonder Woman.

Anonymous said...

"Also let’s not forget that the show’s two main executive producers Millar and Gough crafted the screen story for Spiderman 2, the most successful superhero outing ever on the big screen"

And in a recent interview, Millar was very coy as to why they couldn't spin the JLA from Smallville into their own series, despite being popular enough to warrant it......

Anonymous said...

Maybe because WB has plans to turn JLA into a feature film with million dollar profit dreams instead.

Anonymous said...

"WB’s dream best case scenario is that this film is a huge hit and see’s X3 or Transformers like numbers at the box office"

X3 only made 234 mil domestic at the BO. that is not enough money to justify doing spinoffs. That is one of the risks of this JL movie. You think SR had high expectations if WB wants to do costly spinoffs from this it had better be a hit close to what Spiderman pulls in.

Sepharih said...

^Last time I checked they were doing two spin offs.

Oh, and great news guys. I stand by what I said. I think there's someone more mature and appropriate for the part, but after dealing with Routh you won't be hearing anymore fuss from me. Welling will do just fine.

Finally the news I've been waiting for years ! Finally those morons are listening to the public. Tom Welling deserves to be Superman in the big screen and if he's in this is one movie I will see several times. And hopefully what follows will be a new Superman movie with Tom.
Enough with Singerman. Blaargh.

BRANDON ROUTH IS NOT SUPERMAN said...

This would be about the best news in the last decade, and if this comes true, and the Singerman sequel is scrapped I will no longer have a need for this site, and would close it or change the name, and keep it Superman related.

Tom Welling is this Generations face to the character SUPERMAN, and to never get to see him in the suit or on the big screen would not only be the biggest waste in the history of comic book cinema but would also cheat the fans of what could be a rather wonderful movie.

The guy simply embodies the role better then Routh, and then most actors who I have seen, and it's no wonder why Al & Miles (The Smallville producers/creators) wanted him for the role so badly that they kept pushing even after he turned them down.

Also Welling was always open to take the leap to the big screen suit, and all but Singer had a vision which wouldn't be able to work with Welling in the suit.

Tom's Superman is current, and for this generation... Routh is 20 years to late, and to be honest not something I feel anyone really wants to see more off.

So if this is real news, and please take it with a grain of salt here! But if true then the WB could be heading in the right direction for the first time in a long time when it comes to the Superman character.

Anonymous said...

Amen to that BrandonRouthIsNotSuperman.
Tom Welling is this generation's Superman, he should be the one in the big screen making Superman return to the limelight and in a competitive way against movies like Spider-Man. His Clark/Superman is one we actually care for and relate, something essencial for this movie to suceed.

Anonymous said...

it's no wonder why Al & Miles (The Smallville producers/creators) wanted him for the role so badly that they kept pushing even after he turned them down.

LOL also remember that Routh auditioned for the role of Clark on SV but got turned down. Guess Millar and Gough were looking for a next-gen Superman not some poor man's imitation Reeve knock off.

What the fuck are you talking about? Fox has both a Wolverine solo film in the works and a young Magneto film or possible TV series on the horizon.

Anonymous said...

Also Fox would love to make another X film if Berry and Jackman's price tags are both not too high.

This is in contrast to Routh who would do this JLA film for minimal extra wages.

swright said...

I know I'm going to get railed for bring this over, but the Homepage has spoken to Al gough about Tom Welling being offered the role of Superman..Here's his quote..

"The Superman Homepage can exclusively reveal that Tom Welling has not been approached to play Superman in the "Justice League" movie as has been claimed.
When the Superman Homepage approached Al Gough (co-creator of "Smallville") regarding the claim he replied, "Hasn't happened, won't happen, he is under contract to Smallville through season 8."

Let the trashing begin.

BRANDON ROUTH IS NOT SUPERMAN said...

"LOL also remember that Routh auditioned for the role of Clark on SV but got turned down. Guess Millar and Gough were looking for a next-gen Superman not some poor man's imitation Reeve knock off."

INDEED They wanted the next face to the role, and not a very water down version of the guy who played the role nearly 3 decades ago!

Let's be clear here Chris Reeve is my Superman... My generation's Superman, and that's because I'm nearly 30 myself, and since he was my Superman I really hated the fact that they got a guy who's claim to fame was being on MTV, and playing gay characters, and who was kicked off a tv daytime soap for BAD ACTING!

That was not a good way to honor Reeve's legacy at all!
I think the right way was to give the role to the person who was the one that he picked to pass the torch down to.

Reeve never went on the show "Lois & Clark" because he didn't think that Cain was the right person to carry the torch to the next level but he went on Smallville even after his terrible, and now deadly accident, and he went there not once but twice!

He did psa announcements along with Tom Welling for spinal cord research, and even said that he was the right person to carry the torch. Hence he passed it to him...

To steal the Superman torch from Welling, and give it to Routh without letting Welling have a crack at playing the role on the big screen is a crime to all the fans who have come to see him as the new face to this character.

The WB were sold a bag of goods by Singer, and yes those goods seemed good at the time coming from a guy who just made X Men 2 which is one of the top 10 best comic book adaptations EVER!

But Singer got that movie right because he was forced by the studio to add more action to his original cut because it had almost none...

In other words X MEN 2 was going to be like what SR turned out to be.

Again proving that without a good balance of action, strong acting, and a good storyline you can't have a very good movie.

Superman Returns failed to be a hit because it failed to add action, adventure, excitement, and added things which were out of character for the man of steel!

For example Superman isn't a Stalker, Bastard dad, or an idiot!
In Superman Returns he was all those things, and it didn't help that the movie had possibly the worst villian plot scheme EVER put on film.

Nothing I have ever or probably will ever see will amount to how bad the storyline in SR went...

It's like they copied as much shit from the Donner'verse as they could, and stopped at a point so that they could claim that it's only a "Vague sequel" so then they could add shit to it like the bastard child, and then started to make shit up as they went along due to lack of imagination the things they came up with were lame, and the things that they copied were also lame. (Like the Lex land scheme being lifted from the Donner movie... It was lame then, and it's lame now.) as much as I love Reeve's work, and loved his 4 movies they are very out dated now, and to be honest the story lines don't hold up. The only reason they are worth watching is simply because Reeve was BORN to play Superman! He makes you believe that a man could fly! He embodied the role like no man alive for his generation, and mines... Much how Tom Welling now does.

I'm also in shock that Singer would spend nearly 11-15 million on a return to krypton scene to then not even use the scenes!

I mean how do you think the WB took that after knowing that they would probably not see a profit from this movie even after a few months of the dvd being out for sale? Yeah probably not to well...

With Nolan kicking it's ass all the way to the bank I remember Bale telling Routh that BAtman is really the one who kicks ass! And Routh looked like a stoned out idiot who didn't know what to do or say... Bale was right because his movie kicked SR ass.

Now with this awesome news of Welling getting his much deserved shot at the role I think that maybe balance could be brought to this saga, and once we see how much positive buzz Welling's casting gets you will see Singer's sequel go the way of Vanilla Ice's career, and become DEAD!

I hope the WB are serious because Welling has earned the role, and hell he already is seen as this generations Superman, and he hasn't ever even put on the suit!

Just think of when he does!!! He might out shine Chris Reeve in the role!

Who knows? A whole lot of people thought Keaton was wrong for BATMAN, and look how that ended up.

So what the whole X-Men franchise was 3 films before they did that. Reports say they want to do spinoffs from JL right away. this will easily cost over 200 mil to make if you think 234 mil is enough money for WB to do costly spinoffs dream on. It will have to be way bigger than that. If SR was a flop at 200 mil then JL is a smash at 234 mil yeah ok whatever.

You seem to think that raw numbers are indicative of the whole story without taking into account all the other factors that separate a 200 million flop from a 234 million dollar success. Things such as the production cost of a film and its per screen capita IE the amount of screens its playing on at its widest release.

SR's low end production cost were 210 with the addition of failed projects which Time Warner had said were going to count against Singer's SR the budget was 270 million dollars.

So with that in mind SR was a huge commercial failure with its barely 200 million dollar gross (The film couldn't even recoup its low end estimated cost of production) at the end of the summer while playing on til the end of the summer.

God damn you Apologist douches are a bunch of non business educated dumb asses.

The news of Welling excited me at first, but I think we're all jumping the gun on everything.

Nothing is really so until Warner makes an official statement.
Miller hasn't signed as Director yet, though it seems a sure thing.
Still it's best to wait and see how the pieces fall before can have anything of real substance to chew on.
I think Tom Welling would make a great Superman, and will be tickled if this turns into fact, but Jesus Christ, WHOEVER gets the role, they need to put the guy in a REAL SUPERMAN COSTUME!
Just the visual of seeing Welling in that geek suit turns my stomach.
Let the Justice League Superman LOOK LIKE SUPERMAN!
You know what's funny? This particular rumor has GOT TO be worrying the Hell out of Routh.

If Welling does in fact don a REAL Superman costume for the Justice League, you know visually he's gonna be a Helluva lot more impressive as Superman.
If the film turns into a huge hit, (fingers crossed), you know how that's going to impact Warner Bros and the question of what to do about the Superman sequel.
Why gamble again on Singerman when you've already got the goods?
No one would be happier if this rumor is true and the Singer sequel gets tanked in favor of a new Director, with Welling as Superman.

Al Gough also made similar comments to kryptonsite.com. Dunno what that's about but 10:1 the Krypton Site webmaster is shitting himself over the idea of his meal ticket ending. He's the Smallville equivalent of Steve Younis.

S.S.S. said...

I dont know why the K-Site webmaster would think he was going to get a different answer from Gough than Younis got? If WB wanted people going on record about this film right now, they'd be having one of their reps or George Miller (IF he is in fact directing) answering the oblivion of questions they've probably gotten recently about this. Knowing what I know of the Hollywood game, I'd assume details are being hashed out (I's dotted, T's crossed, etc) and most everyone has been told to shut up about it until it's done.

Assuming IESB is legit, this isnt Al Gough's project either, so he's most likely going to be one of the LAST people at liberty to talk about it to ANYONE, especially the internet. His only involvement will be what's handed down the pipeline to him from his bosses and helping to schedule Tom's shooting schedule around a movie.

If you're on of these guys like Younis or the K-Site guy, you're more likely to get a straight answer from someone involved in the actual film production and promising them anonymity. Younis ALLEGEDLEY has those kinds of contacts but from what I've seen he usually tries to run to a source and get something on the record, which hurts him. I have no idea what the guy at K-Site has. I'd assume his contacts are within the WB TV area, but who knows.

From what I know, his sources are Al Gough and others on the Tollin-Robbins and Millar Gough Ink side as well as certain of the SV cast. That's why his site is usually firstest with the mostest in terms of SV spoilers.

Frankly, it sounds like Gough is in all kinds of denial. Rosenbaum is walking after season seven and I hear tell that Kreuk (Lana) and Mack (Chloe) are departing too. That basically leaves Lois, Clark and Lionel for season 8. Am I missing anyone?

Call me crazy but I dunno if you can build 22 episodes around a cast that small.

"Except the JLA script is going to be made.

Perhaps somebody could call Alan Horn and get a definite answer about MOS and we can then get behind it. Or not." Pa Zod

From guess where

How does Younis believe that if the JLA film is a success, Warners would want another Singer gayfest???

If it works, bye bye Singer & Routh once and for all.

..even if it flops you think Warners would want another Superman misfire on their hands??

This situation is a no win for Singer, Younis & Bailey, aka "The Gay Mafia Of Krypton"

I don't think there is much doubt that WB wants Welling to do this. However it is not exactly a secret that he is a bit Prima donna and has no love for putting the tights on. Welling may be asking WB right now for more money than they are willing to pay him. If Welling wants to do this though SV will take a backseat. I am sure WB can force Gough's hand on this if Welling is 100% on board with doing JL.

yeah, don't forget there's no love for Singerman in the Smallville camp either. Warner's forced SV to drop John Schneider to fit in with their big screen vision....

If Warners want Welling, and if Welling's keen, he'll be in the JLA

Anonymous said...

"Warner's forced SV to drop John Schneider to fit in with their big screen vision...."

No they didn't. That was always planned to happen. They decided to do it as a 100th episode event. It had nothing to do with SR.

"However it is not exactly a secret that he is a bit Prima donna and has no love for putting the tights on."

This was true before he met Chris Reeve. Ever since then he has not been closed to the idea of putting the suit on, and he only turned down the first movie because it would have meant the end of Smallville and that was his first committment. Remember Smallville was at its peak when he was being approached for the McG version.

Anonymous said...

"No they didn't"

Yes they did. Pa Kent had to be written out as to align Smallville with the Donnerverse continuity before Returns arrived. That's common knowledge. Being able to mark that departure on the 100th episode was serendipity. The lengthy negotiations and arrangements between Singer's camp and Smallville are well known

The Daily Planet sets and fascade also were designed to integrate with the look of what was coming.

Anonymous said...

^^^
I hated the fact that Singer's SR took forefront over SV's continuity but things being the way they were some good did come out of it like the fact that SV was allowed to use the fortress and Lois being able to interact and conflict with Lex.

And yeah you are absolutely right when SR was in production there were confirmed reports that Millar and Gough met with Singer and Co so that SV and the SR continuities would not contradict in terms of the characters relationships to one another.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, and John Schneider wasn't overly impressed either!

Further proof, as if any was needed as to how outdated the Donnerverse concept was, and how fucking stupid it was to try to set a contempory version of Superman in it. Then to make matters worse, saddle Supes with a illegitimate son

So? The two fortresses had a similar aesthetic but it's not like they were the same set by any means.

No, one was in Canada and the other one was being built in Sydney.

You're drawing a rather long bow there with that one! For all intents and purposes it is the same Fortress in both as it was in the Donnerverse

Thanks sparky, but I knew that already.

"You're drawing a rather long bow there with that one! For all intents and purposes it is the same Fortress in both as it was in the Donnerverse"

All I said was that they had a similar aesthetic. But since you mention it, I'd say they are still fairly different. The FOS in the Singerdonnerverse is a place of comfort and retreat for Superman. In SV, well, it's not exactly that.

Anonymous said...

"In SV, well, it's not exactly that."

...but will be.

In the Singerdonnerverse Clark dresses up in tights and a cape and flies around as Superman. In SV, it's not exactly that, sparky

ARE YOU SERIOUS!?! Where can I find more info? Just when I thought I couldn't possibly have anymore reasons to hate Singerman I find this out.
The death of Johnathan Kent, for me at least, created a void which the show has never really managed to recover from. They had already started to lose their direction, but that was when I finally lost faith in the show ever getting back on the right track.
Maybe I've been unappreciative of Smallville's writers. It's got to be near impossible to churn out anything decent with stuff like this going on.

Seeing as Jor-El in SV and Brando have basically nothing in common and SV's FOS is dead, now would be a good time for you to do just that.

That's a fair point. Smallville's Jor-El is a cunt but the fact remains they got to use the "Ice" FOS as per the Donnerverse

I defend the movie and why I liked it. I do it because it's my opinion, not because I want Singer to do the sequel above all else. Bizzaro Ken will tell you, I'm not a hard core "Gotta have a sequel" apologist. I just liked the movie and would like them to do a sequel. But if I'm going to get Welling (who was always my first choice) as Superman in a JLA movie then I don't care if it takes the place of any SR sequel.

BRANDON ROUTH IS NOT SUPERMAN said...

swright I can say this much about my connection... He knows some people in the know, and he is the one who gave me Dan Harris AIM account a couple of years ago when I im'd him, and ragged on him for casting Routh who was fired from a soap to replace Reeve, and never looked at Welling.

That conversation was then posted against my wishes by TheKryptonian.com, and other sites, and caused a bit of a headache, and I was banned from a couple of Singer ass sucking websites for pointing out the obvious flaws in their concept, and I was proven right when the movie came out, and not only performed EXACTLY how I said it would! or very close to it I said it would die at about 198million domestic (made 200) and I also said that it wouldn't crack 400 world wide...(391 ww totals)

It also proved my friend to be telling the truth when these sites called Harris publicist to see if this was indeed a real conversation.

Further more he told me that VENOM would be in Spiderman 3 many many months before the people at Marvel even said anything about who the badguys were even going to be!

He told me that Venom was a minor character, and one thing he did get right, and then wrong was he said that VENOM wouldn't come out much until the end of the movie (got that right) but he also said that he was told that they might be setting up his storyline to carry it over for a part 4 (Can't say 100% that it won't happen but we all saw what happened to Venom in part 3) so I trust him very much so.

All I can say is the same thing that "SingermansSupermanSucks" said which is take it with a grain of salt because in Hollywood things change ALL the time, and like I said he Told me that indeed Welling was asked, and he was more then willing to doit! He said that Welling said yes without even hearing about a contract, and or how much he would be paid, and that Welling was NEVER talked to by Singer or his people but said that from the sounds of it Welling was rather let down that they made another movie, and he wasn't even looked at by the Director.

So when he was asked for JLA he jumped at the chance especially with the direction the show is heading, and knowing that his days as TV's Clark Kent are numbered, and the number is running out.

Like I also said he told me that other people have been looked at, and will be looked at, and that includes people who tried out for SR...

The person I know is not someone who is to well known by the fans but in Hollywood his name is known by many producers, directors, and actors, and he knows a lot of folks over at the WB, and he also told me that right now the WB is letting Singer get his script together, and that liked what they heard in his pitch but that JLA is the main movie that they are trying to make first, and if it does do big numbers Singers Superman sequel might not happen at all.

His movie is not greenlite yet as you know if not the WB would have said it at Comic Con, and or via the media by now. As they did with BATMAN: The Dark Knight.

Fact of the matter is that while they liked the movie pitch for both Superman Returns & now the sequel they didn't like the way Superman Returns turned out, and we're let down by the boxoffice numbers which again I predicted!

This along with the fact that the so called "industry slump" seems to only have affected Superman Returns! Because most of the big movies the last couple of years have done very well! I mean how many $300million dollar blockbusters have we had since Superman Returns came out?

swright said...

Here's what he wrote....

"I've had a great tip off that traces back to a decent source with links within Warner Bros. It reveals quite a bit of exciting info about how The Man of Steel is going to go down when Brian Singer steps back behind the camera next year.

Apparently, Singer and Mike Dougherty have crafted a killer pitch and 'concept draft' that had the suits eating out of their hands and even had a knock-on effect for the plans for JLA (I'm told). Several key story points were made clear by the pre-production conceptual art, and here are some SPOILERY details of what those images revealed:

There's a new Kryptonian character coming to Earth as a result of Supes' pilrgimage to Krypton that took place before Returns.

Lex makes a deal with "a new villain" (I read this as new to the films, not new to the mythos, and indeed I have some idea who it is...) in order to have Superman eradicated. This villain double crosses Lex and takes over Lexcorp (yep - sounds like Brainiac to me too). What's more, Jason is a key part in the plot to trap Superman and...

Poor little Jason. He's snuffed out. That should have some of you cheering, you fiends.

So, there's a basic draft of the script (a scriptment?), pre-production art and several sequences storyboarded and, as far as I've been told, it's all going down very well with the execs. Nothing's gonna stand in the way of this film, I'm sure. And, reportedly, this one is really quite action packed with a threatening, smart double team of villains. Can't fail.

Treat this as rumour, sure. If you must. I'm buying it entirely because I know where it comes from."

Now remember I didn't write this, just reporting it.

BRANDON ROUTH IS NOT SUPERMAN said...

Well that just further proves that my guy is on the money remember I said that they were happy with Singers pitch for MOS.
Even tho the whole LEX teaming up with the new kryptonian badguy to help beat Superman sure sounds like a rip off from the Superman 2 storyline of ZOD who is also a Kryptonian, and who also had joined forces with LEX in order to kill Superman.
So more Singer bitting of the Donnerverse I take it!?
The whole kid being killed off is stupid, and will upset people more then anything because there shouldn't have been a kid to start with but now to kill a child off in a movie is un classy, and shows stupidity by the writers.

Luthor sends out a "distress signal" that is picked up by Braniac. Hijinks ensue, Brainiac double-crosses Luthor, Superman "dies", is brought back, and Lois is used to "bait" a trap at the end. There IS production art out there for this script, and I'm positive this shithead is basing it ALL off of this. And since BRYAN SINGER is "famous", misspelling his name has NO excuse. A simple "Google" of his name will CORRECT you.

Unless this person is confirming that BS is a PLAGIARIZER? That he took Kevin Smiths script and RIPPED-OFF pretty much the ENTIRE thing?

I checked out the "filmick" scoop and it's bullshit. It originated on the SHH message boards early this morning, and then suddenly it popped up on their page almost verbatim. It's one of those self-fulfilling prophecies where fans make up a rumor, others buy into it, and then they get some inexperienced website that no one has ever heard of to buy into it. Then those fans point to the website as evidence of the news. If you take a look at it, it's a combination of all the easy quick fixes to Singer's plot problems that fans have plus some of the old JJ Abrams script. Someone over on SHH has been at this a long time and has a lot of time on their hands.

"..reportedly, this one is really quite action packed with a threatening, smart double team of villains. Can't fail."

For fucks sake. If it's about Singer they have to push the point...."Can't fail" indeed!

It seems more likely to fail because it would see the return of Routh, a known failure, not to mention Spacey etc.....and to reveal a major plot point such as killing the kid seems designed only to pacify the majority who thought Singer's ideas were misguided to begin with.

As far as I'm concerned, everything we've been told about a Singer sequel just adressess the mistakes Singer made the first time around. At this point in time, the only viable way forward seems to be Welling in the JLA, and a fresh start for Superman

The rumor i keep hearing about the SR sequel is that Singer and CO pitched it and WB liked it. Some of the real VETS at SHH who have legit info keep saying that is what they have heard. Who knows if they have seen a full script yet or not. Some are speculating WB wants to do JL and SR 2, some are saying just JL, some are saying neither. Who the hell knows right now.

I'd caution you with confusing how long someone has been on an internet messageboard with "credibility." People who are veteran message board users tend not to be the type of people that develop industry contacts. Those people also tend to have agendas one way or the other. The people who know the most tend to talk the least. I had a feeling their would be some kind of Singerman II salvo fired after JLA was in the spotlight last week. It's how these things tend to work, and most of it tends to be fan generated. As much as it pains me to say it, you've got more reason to believe people like IESB b/c at least they're in the business of finding news and get the occasional bit right. If they're wrong (which IESB very well could be) they have consequences to their reputations. People on messageboards can make up all the crap they want and never have to pay the price for it since they're cloaked in anonymity.

True. Will Younis pay the price for sloppy, unchecked rumours being posted as news?? He'll surely try to backflip out of any backlash like he did when he quoted Rob Burnett as confirming MOS sometime back.

Like Retard here, if the apologists at sites like SHP feel JLA is stealing too much of the limelight, then ANYTHING that gives the impression that their wonderboy Singer is still proceeding. How long has it taken for word to "leak" out about this supposed successful pitch?? It magically surfaces at the time of JLA and Welling talk. Pathetic at best

I Just read the latest at CHUD, and he makes a point about the rumor mill..
It WOULD be a complete surprise if Welling's name didn't come up in board room discussion when it came to casting.
And in the end, that most likely may be all IESB really has.

I don't know, I've never sat in on a storm session when a movie is thrown together under high pressure circumstances. (Beating a strike dead line.)
The guy calling the shots might have ran every body out of the room to make up his mind, we don't know.

But if I were in their shoes, a top exec wanting to toss out a JLA film as quick as possible, for me it would be a no-brainer to go with Welling as Supes. Why waste precious time looking?
The bad thing is odds are extremely high a rushed JLA film is gonna wind up being crap.

But Warner has a history of shooting itself in the foot when under pressure.

There was no reason for Younis to expect to really learn anything when he phoned Al Gough, or expect the man to tell him anything else other than NO to the rumor..Just because he's the producer of Smallville doesn't mean he knows what's going on with the studio heads at Warner, or that he's even in the loop. It wouldn't be the first time a studio made an end run around a producer. And even if Gough DID know anything, it doesn't mean he's free to comment about it at this time other than make denials.

IESB, and ESPECIALLY SHP, aren't my favorite websites for reliable info.
And Younis, the little ****, lives in Australia for cryin out loud. He's only been to the States once in his life, and that was to go to that little tourist trap town in Metropolis, Ill.

It's not like Younis has a lot of contacts here in the States. He only gets the scraps tossed to him by Warner or DC, but he's not on the INSIDE with ANYBODY.
Who the Hell does he know well enough Stateside to rub arms with, -(Other than Neal Bailey, who ALSO is on the outside.)- and become buddy-buddy with in the upper echelons of Warner Bros??? Nobody!
If he had that kinda juice, BLueTights wouldn't have got the jump on him carrying Singer's video diaries, and more or less be the site to go to when new info about SR was being released during production.( I hate Singerman, I'm just point out some facts regarding Younis's QWN credibility.)

Personally, I hope Younis is proved dead wrong, and that Welling indeed has been tapped for the role of Superman in the JLA.

One last thing, nothing to do with Younis...In these various rumors over the JLA film, all of them more or less end saying Warner hopes to spin off other film franchises, and rejuvenate Superman.

For the sake of argument, lets say the Justice League film proved a huge success, and I were a Warner executive,... I don't see how that would translate into something positive for Singer's Superman.
We're talking apples and oranges here in reference to a JLA Tom Welling/ Superman, and Singer's Routh /Superman..
I don't see how it would spill any popularity off over into the Singer Singerman arena, I mean it makes no difference WHO plays Superman in the Justice League film. It does nothing to rejuvenate the franchise that Singer launched, or bolster it. If anything, it's in direct competition with it.

Think about it for a minute..
Superman Returns has done nothing but create division among fans of the character, and a loss of unrealized profits for Warner Bros.. You can't have an icon of mass appeal marketed in such a fashion, that as that icon and product, it LOSES that mass appeal, or rather, it doesn't reach it's FULL POTENTIAL in earnings.
It's just common sense.
And that is exactly what Brian Singer has done. He's hurt the Superman franchise, not bolster it.
Superman Returns has made the official list of all time movies that took the longest to hit the 200 MIL. mark at the box office..It comes in at number eight on that list.
The Simpsons has already made 443 MIL. Not bad for a 75 MIL. investment. Compare that to the investment of Superman Returns and it's profits.(I know this point's been made in an earlier post, but it bears repeating.)

If I were Brandon Routh, I would be sweating bullets over these rumors. A highly successful Justice League film with Welling as Superman could spell doom for Singer and Routh. It's cheaper to buy out contracts than reinvest in a questionable sequel.

If I've been over all this before, I apologize for being repetitious.
It's fun to watch though, neither Younis OR IESB knows anything for sure.
We don't really know if Welling's been offered the role, and Younis (in spite of calling Al Gough), STILL doesn't really know if he wasn't

Only the studio heads at Warner knows.

Anonymous said...

"If I've been over all this before, I apologize for being repetitious."

Those points still have credibilty though.

The day Younis is forced to admit he knows nothing and has backed the wrong pony from day one can't be far away

I agree. I think Singer doomed himself by leaving a lot of plot holes open (aside from other aspects of the film itself), including the kid. Now he has the job of getting rid of him, the proverbial Jar Jar Binks of his "franchise".

After I was done watching the film, I just remember how disappointed I was, but also realized how we were going to have to deal with Jason in the second film, if there was one. Groan.

Let me quote a post of mine waaaay down the page:

"So I say this now, so it's clear to ALL: I won't be responding to REtard EVER again, as I have knocked his sissy ass out countless times already. There just comes a time when trying to "reason" with a fucking mongoloid becomes akin to banging your head against the wall. Accomplishes nothing."

So it's not the first time this topic has been "breached". Some people can't see through his stupidity, and others just enjoy insulting him. I can't blame them for that, as it is pretty easy to do.

But yes, it's akin to taking "crazy pills" reading his made-up bullshit. One minute he's "in the industry", the next he lives in FUCKING FRANCE, and is "insulting" the GREATEST NATION on the PLANET.

Pretty fucking SAD, but what do you expect from a FRENCH "ladyboy"?

At the moment I'd just like to say that it does indeed seem like every time something concrete is revealed about JLA, almost immediately SHP responds with the latest developments on Singerman. Just like they did this week with the supposed plot to MOS. It's a go & all that, right? Even though it sounds like recycled crap.

Even worse are many of the members posting. If you're for JLA & less so for MOS, you're some kinda idiot that doesn't know anything. Oh, & you're also a 'hater' or a 'troll.' However, they can be very hypocritical at times because the do the same thing; they bash all things JLA & Tom Welling & praise all things Singerman as though it's a done deal. So if the 'haters' are bad & ignoramus, are they any better?

swright said...

"almost immediately SHP responds with the latest developments on Singerman."

Bullshit! There were like 4 or 5 news items about the JLA almost in a row and nothing about Superman REturns until this last rumor. And half of the damn people posting know it's bullshit.

I don't get why it's such a bad thing over there yet you do the same thing over here. Any type of Superman REturns news is immediately shot down as anything serious by some of you guys. Let's be honest here, we are both doing this on both sides of the argument.

The argument has now altered from "I hate SR and I don't hate SR" To " I want JLA, and I don't want JLA" that's all.

What I am wondering though is why hasn't SHH reported any of the JLA rumors since IESB broke their Tom Welling story? Or have they and I missed it?

ApologistPuncher said...

When Younis "tacks on" his opinionated BULLSHIT about a Singerman "sequel" to EVERY JLA story, he is INDEED perpetrating the MYTH that said "sequel" is "happening". It's his way of countering the TRUTH, and "stringing" you and your ilk along.

"What I am wondering though is why hasn't SHH reported any of the JLA rumors since IESB broke their Tom Welling story? Or have they and I missed it?"

Did I miss the announcement stating SingerHomoHype was an AUTHORITY on EVERYTHING Hollyweird? As they ALSO have an "under the table" agreement with BS, them trying their hardest to keep THAT shit-barge afloat is no more a "surprise" than your Lord and Master Younis doing the same.

Younis ran to Gough purely out ego. Younis knows damn well that these guys sign NDA's on these types of projects, so whether or not Gough actually knows anything, his answer was going to be "No."

Steve just wants a little pub for himself and his site, and was pissed off that IESB MIGHT have a scoop on this, so he comes out with the easy challenge.

It's a no lose situation for him. If IESB is wrong, it looks like Younis was the correct one. If IESB is right, then Younis just blames it on Gough being dishonest or secretive. Either way all of the other news sites are mentioning SMHP alongside the IESB rumor.

I hate to say it guys, cause NOBODY wants to see Younis eat shit more than I do, but for all the hype and bravado IESB gave the Welling casting story, they've been pretty Damned quiet on the follow up..They're not providing any further information. I sense a retract in the air.
The Moviehole gave a lame nod toward the rumor of Welling being approached, but it was far from being anything worth the time to read.

I think it's all going to turn out to be a Bullshit story with Younis getting the last laugh.

It chaps my ass. We need to quit listening to all this shit and wait till Warner makes an official announcement about this crap.
I hate Singerman and the assholes that fawn over it, but it's even worse to be a Singer hater with egg on your face.
The last couple of weeks it's been Jla this and JLA that. Welling IS, and Welling ISN'T Superman..
Now nobody knows SHIT.

Not that I'm even remotely taking IESB's side on this, but I'm not sure what you were expecting to happen by now? They're not going to announce any kind of casting until they announce that Miller is directing it. Welling isnt a big enough name in Hollywood to be introduced before a director.

According to the IESB report, that would probbaly be sometime this week. I mean they made this announcement on Friday night, and today is only Tuesday, and we all know that they usually dont announce much on weekends, so it's in effect only 2 days since the report.
Trust me, I'll be all over Sanchez's ass like white on rice if this flames out, but it's still a bit early to call BS on this.
Let's see if they announce Miller as director in the next 2 weeks, and if that doesnt happen or if it does and there's no casting announced within a few weeks, then we can use his ass as a trampoline.

Younis & Bailey, now there's two guys with great heads for radio

...actually that first rumor on IESB has to be the biggest load of crap....as if anyone connected to character design on this film is going to have to resort to running down to the local shopping complex's comic section to check out costume designs!! Sounds more like a bunch of geeks getting excited about the upcoming film.

...as for the second one it really only confirms what we already know. This may be giving more credence to what we know hopefully, otherwise apart from the Fishbourne bit, doesn't really shed much light

Anonymous said...

You gotta check out that podcast. Comedy gold! You only need to listen to the first five or so minutes, the rest is genuine geek gibberish.

Talk about a couple of hypocrits, and of course, Man Of Steel's still on course because (sarcastic tone):"It only made 200 million dollars!" Their going to look a real couple of maroons, as if not already......

How old is Younis though? Twelve? Sounds like puberty is about to kick in. As for Bailey he sounds even worse. Either he inhales helium, or he was castrated at birth

Anonymous said...

I knew Younis and Bailey from PAST experiences. Both look like geeks.

Younis is a short, ugly little shit. In real life he has a sickenly "smart ass, know it all" attitude. He doesn't talk to people as equals, but rather like they were shit beneath his shoe. When I say smart ass, I MEAN smart ass.
Imagine it. This fuckin' dwarf talks DOWN to people.
The only people he gives respect to are the folks at DC and Warner, playing lap dog for any bone they may throw him. He sucks up to anyone he perceives as having any status, in hopes of getting a foot on the "inside". And naturally, to the followers of SMHP, he maintains this nice guy "facade" in answering letters, for the most part that is.
The same is true on his website, he projects the same phony personae of being a nice guy, and philanthropic in nature. It's a bullshit act.
What do you expect? He has to maintain a phony image, get behind sympathetic drives etc. to build upon that fake image.
His goal in life is to turn into a fat little fuck with ass blisters, sitting in front of his MAC, making his living off of merchandising Superman.
I'm not making this shit up. He's a pathetic little bastard and it's a boon to all mankind that he hasn't been able to produce offspring. Any kid raised by Younis would wind up a guaranteed head case, doomed to therapy for the rest of it's life.

Bailey is taller, but just as ugly. Just as fucked up mentally.

He has serious dysfunctional parental issues.
He's delusional over conspiracy issues.
And the most laughable aspect is, he has this self made world he's created, in which he's a genius writer that has been shunned by the professional institutions, but believes if he keeps promoting himself and self publishes(he pays the publishing house to put his garbage in print, no publishing firm is paying him to write), that THAT gives him the right to call himself an author

He spouts punk philosophy, and for the longest time, sported a bald head with a long, spiked orange Mohawk down the middle.

So there you have it gang. The twits behind the scenes at SMHP.
If the idiots who flock to that site and gather in homage to these two idiots knew who and what they really are, well Fuck, the answer is self explanatory.
What a couple of losers.

Just in the one or two times I "took a gander" at their "regulars" posts, it's pretty obvious they have attracted people JUST like them.

I actually saw an Apologist, who is a fucking MORON, call a "Realist" an ASSHOLE, and got nary a word from Younis, or "swright", as I guess he is some sort of "moderator"-like douchebag there. Instead, many, many rude bullshit-laden posts later, they just basically tell EVERYONE "Hey now, naughty-naughty". BUT, a "Realist" tells them how IGNORANT they are to believe a Singerman sequel is happening, and they JUMP ALL OVER HIM. Talk about a fucked-up double standard THERE.

No one with a brain "frequents" the "Axis of Evil", that is to be sure....

Now ya see, this is kinda crap is why I said I "sense a retract" in the air over Welling.

NOW IESB is posting emails from "Joe-Blo who knowa who", as a friggin source. (Of course with a disclaimer), but Shit! Don't put a damn email up from someone you don't know from the guy across town, and use it as a "source". Jesus Christ.
I don't know who's worse. Younis or these guys.

I'm a big supporter of a JLA film at this point, especially with Welling, but yeah, that last update has to be crap too. Talk about convuluted! You'd need a program to keep up with that plot!

Again, genuine geek gibberish

The Man From Krypton said...

Well my sources told me that Welling is verbally on board but no contract is done yet, and while he is the top choice the WB are going to hold a casting call, and look at other candidates in case Welling can't be signed for some reason.

But without a doubt IESB got it 100% on the money with this part "The Flash is Wally West. Ryan Reynolds for the role." Ryan is up for the role, and since he's been trying to land the role for so long I hear that he is the only real choice the WB has at this moment.

Also they hit the nail on the head from what I was told in this part "Two reasons why Routh will get recast, Singer's Superman is it's own thing and WB know the negative reaction towards it, so they don't want Routh associated with this considering Man of Steel is "not" I repeat "not" certain for the go ahead (It's not like Routh is too expensive or doing anything anyway, there are other reasons). This JLA Superman is based more on the post-crisis/current comics version which is the one Welling plays on Smallville. Movie stars make no difference in these types of movies so WB wants to keep it tighter and just get Welling, who already looks like Superman anyway and plays the character. It's a go on WB's side, but not on Welling's, he still has to accept." Again Welling has from what I was told said yes on a verbal agreement but he hasn't signed any contracts, and so again IESB is right.

My source told me the same thing but also said don't be shocked if the WB opts for an older looking cast all together, and throws an offer James Caviezel's way who remember was their original choice for the part before Singer cast Routh.

So the Fans wanted Welling, the WB wanted James Caviezel, and Singer stuck us with Routh.

Some how I feel cheated here because I could have lived with James Caviezel as a new modern SUPERMAN!

If they don't go for Welling or James Caviezel I wouldn't mind it if Mike O'hearn of "Worlds Finest" fame got a crack at the role... He tested for the role for McG, and Singer but was turned away!

Because get this! HE WAS TO BIG! HAHA Which is funny since Routh is way to THIN! He looks like a f'in pop diva with his thin frame!

Anyway who knows what will happen but I do know that Miller will be announced first by tge WB before any actor is, and I also heard that if Singer CAN get Man of Steel off the ground, and he gets the go ahead from the WB to make his sucky singerman sequel that JLA might be pushed to a 2010 release date.

S.S.S. said...

IESB is playing a dangerous game. The Welling rumor seems to have been backed up by real sources and confirmed by guys like Clint at Moviehole. Now in order to keep the fanboys interested they're taking fan emails (which tend to come in droves when your site gets some big pub like this) and posting anything that even has a shred of truth in it. Do you mean to tell me that they thought there was legitimacy to this rumor solely because they once heard DiCaprio wanted to do a superhero film? Something tells me WB has closed ranks after this Welling bit got out and whoever was talking to him before has stopped.

You cant tell me that this whole convoluted JLA "plot" they have there is real. The production budget on something like that would make Waterworld look like a local playhouse, especially with that sort of casting. That seems like some fanboy had too many pixie sticks and Mountain Dews and then went and watched the Bruce Timm animated JLA series and made this up.

Anonymous said...

Exactly. You can hardly imagine Warners or anybody being "delighted" with that crapper of a plot outline. It's ridiculous and it's ridiculous to think anyone would post it as even a rumor at this stage.

It does seem, listening to that new podcast that Warners maybe divided at this stage, or at the very least Singer's camp seem to be still in their pitching

I don't seem to recall Magneto wanting to create worthless real estate to sit his and his fag-hag's asses on? Or in the climactic finale, the entire X-Men team lifting a piece of shit-colored dirt into space?

All these fucking douches proved was BS was RIGHT for the "gay allegory" feel of the X-Men films, WRONG for the straight-forward AMERICAN hero of Superman.

Give me a break..Sanchez and Younis are BOTH full of Shit. The only difference now is Sanchez utilized "The Attack of the Show" to reach a broader audience, and demonstrate just how hugely full of shit he IS!
If I was producer of that geek gamer show, I'd ban Sanchez from ever showing his face again.

Here's what it boils down to.

We ALL hate Singer. We hate what the Sonuvabitch did to a World wide icon that's been around since 1939.

80 years, give or take, of a comic book superhero that's been incarnated in just about every shape and form you can imagine. From comic books to radio serials, to cartoons, to movie serials.
Low budget TV series to Low budget TV series. (Lois and Clark was crap), and finally, to big budget film treatment.

In all those variations and incarnations, only ONE piece of SHIT Director holds the distinction of taking what was essentially a piece of historical Americana, and practically single-handedly turned it into sissy, cheesy, shit stinking VOMIT.

It can't be wished away, we can't confiscate every DVD and film copy of that piece of shit movie and destroy it all,(as it should be.)
The deed's been done, the crime committed, and the villain got away.

So, the last of us with any intellect, or fucking sense of aesthetic taste, is left out in the cold when it comes to ever having hope of seeing a decent Superman film again, in maybe another twenty or so years.
(Some of us will be dead before then.)
No decent fucking script, no decent fucking director, no decent fucking actor, or even for God's sake a decent fucking Superman costume!

And what are we left with?

Our mutual hatred of Singer and his regurgitated garbage labeled as "Superman", and dick Wads like Sanchez spewing Bullshit rumors like an asshole geyser.

All we can do is follow S.S.S. guide lines laid out for a letter campaign to Warner Bros. to Boot Singer, and stay at it. Bombard the Hell out of Warner.

Will it work? Who the Fuck knows, but latching on to the rumor of the week isn't accomplishing shit.

They also referred to the sequel as Man of Steel and reported Singer was about to pitch the sequel to Warner Bros. with Michael Dougherty now writing the screenplay. He plans to start production next year for a 2009 release."

Which sounds more of a sure thing................

Thats right Supe Sequel in 2009!

Restart

We know already....and stop posting OLD reports as news. Is France that far behind?

"With Globalization Superman is no longer an american hero but an international hero"

Bullshit. Absolute bullshit. Whilst Supes is loved world wide, he is a slice of true Americana folklore who stands for the United States ideals of truth, justice and THE AMERICAN WAY. He represents all that is good about America.

You may very well argue that those ideals may be in short supply in the current U.S. administration, but it only confirms Superman and what he stands for as a true American hero.

I'm a left wing Aussie, btw

After getting his ass handed to him everytime he posts here, Retard has to take it out on the entire United States!

I don't think he's in France by choice....and making anti-American comments on a Superman site of all places is just trolling

Anonymous said...

It is not being Anti-American calling Superman an International hero! Superman is an international sunsation. Even in STM when supes said the line truth justice and the american way Lois said you will battle most or washington. Don't you get it? This is Superman of today like shown in Returns. One with feeling and problems just like everyone else. Beside that I said that what I post was fact. Those were the most recent FACTS. Not crappy rumors. It is FACT .......

Supes in 2009!

REstart

I may troll but I am right!

"What exactly does Singerman Peeps have to do with X1 OR X2? I mean, I know Younis and Bailey are fucking half-wit asshairs, but can they explain the correlation?"

I am not like a lot of people on here that hate Singer and think he is this awful director. Anyone who can make a small budget movie as great as Ususal Suspects and comic movies as good as X-Men and X2 is a talented director, no doubt. He just had a bad vision for Superman that did not work out.

This movie, combined with playing a drummer in the movie about the first interracial jazz band with "E" from Entourage means that his time will be limited to train and prepare for any MOS sequel. So I'm guessing he doesn't think it's going to happen and is moving on. I know you guys hate him, but I like what he's doing with his career choices. He's doing smaller more independent films. A lot of actors start doing these films while they build their trade.

So...Bring on the JLA, as it seems it's going to be JLA or nada for Superman fans...

"... but I like what he's doing with his career choices. He's doing smaller more independent films."

Dude, he just had one year of unemployment after playing friggin SUPERMAN!!! Not because he was busy making appearances everywhere but because no one wanted to cast him in any kind of blockbuster type movie!
Look at someone like Shia Labeouf to see how a shooting star looks like!

Routh is a no-name in Hollywood and to 99% of the outside world. He's playing small roles in independent flicks which barely anyone will ever see because he has zero status in Hollywood. I wouldn't be surprised if he got asked for autographs because people think of him as "Sylar" from "Heroes". Now that guy is hitting it big time, playing "Spock" in the next "Star Trek" blockbuster movie, while Routh plays "Count Suckular" in a backyard production.

Way to go "Superman" ...

And has been discussed here before the track record of people who have played Superman both on TV and in the movies that have big careers is sub-par at best. Chris Reeve was the only one that even got offered good roles and he did not handle that well.

"If you want the Nolan/Solo Batman series to...

...continue, then you better against this damn JL film.

Can't go into specifics, but I've been doing a lot of digging and conversing with some pretty high-ranking people in the "biz." It is not good news for Batman fans, Superman fans, and possibly, DC fans.

You all are all smart, figure out why this is not good for Batman. There is a real legit reason that I'm campaigning so hard against this damn thing."

This was posted to the BOF forum by the admin, Jett. He doesn't really flaunt his contacts too often, but he does have them and I believe he's on the level with this.

Honestly? I'm a Superman fan first so whatever. Is it worth it to have a *real* Superman if we lose our current Batman franchise? To me, that'd just be a bonus but others might have a different reference point.

I would hope WB isn't so stupid to shoot a profitable franchise like Nolan's down (esp with TDK getting so much buzz) but weirder things have happened.

I guess your Master instructed you to spread this bullshit here? Does he still use the whip, or did he realize you LIKED it?

And Brandon "My Career Went" Routh is playing a NIGHTCLUB "vampire"? God job, BJ. You'll REALLY shake those "gay" rumors NOW.

But hey, he's FINALLY going to get PAID to SUCK....

This Retard guy talks like Borat.

Also, if you want to say Truth, Justice & the American Way for Supes, you BETTER NOT do it over at you-know-where website. Just dig deep enough & you'll see.

Bobby44tx said...

I actually feel bad for Routh. I blame 95% of Singerman on you know who. It is not BR fault that Singer dressed him in that horsehit costume. That he put him opposite the worst fucking person on earth to play Lois Lane. That he put him front and center in a Superman movie that's plot was total shit and made Superman look like a joke. I personally was not going to love anyone that is not Chris Reeve but when i left the theatre after seeing SR i was not thinking that Routh was the problem. I was thinking Singer is fucking moron.

The good news is, NO true Superman fan considers the SingerSuckerHomoPage to be a "credible" site. We see it for what it is, a "cash cow" FOR a "cow". It's more about SELLING Superman, than PROMOTING what he is.

Younis and Bailey can 69 each other from here to Kingdom Come, they'll NEVER be ANYTHING more than a couple of dickheads with "delusions of grandeur".

I put more blame on Routh for SR than you do but i agree with the above that you said. That stuff was not Brandon's fault it was all Singer, his hack writers and his shitty costume designer.

Anonymous said...

^ The costume designer only gave Singer what he asked for. The Singerman suit sucked, but it was exactly what the costume designer was told to create. I wouldn't blame her.

Anonymous said...

Supes' look should've been designed by a 'man's man,' so to speak, not by a man who WANTS other men. BR probably also had the look that Singerman is ATTRACTED to. Singerman, a regular queerbait!

Well they collaborated on it she said on the DVD making of that it went through a lot of changes but Singer made the final call on what it was. These things usually are the end result of a lot of people's input, WB included.

IDIOT ALERT! IDIOT ALERT!

To and for you BONEHEADS that keep replying to RETARD'S POSTS..

He has no personal interest in the Superman character at all. He doesn't give a fuck one way or the other. That's a fucking fact.

He could give a shit whether Singer does another sequel or not.

What he DOES care about is getting a laugh out of provoking, and getting a rise and RESPONSE out you numnuts.

You keep giving the fucking idiot what he wants, and he rightly flaunts you with it because you won't stop giving him the laughs.

Get that through your thick heads. He doesn't give a shit one way or another about a fucking Superman movie.
He enjoys suckering you idiots.

Completely stop responding to his posts. NEVER acknowledge him in the slightest, and you take away his fun.

Jesus, it's like being surrounded by Morons.

Actually, the bitch said, and I QUOTE: "Bright RED & BLUE wouldn't work on-screen today". What. The. Fuck?

Shows what kind of shit-for-brains BS surrounds himself with to feel "intelligent".

Well hell, that's what I get for not watching DVD extras, I guess.

ApologistPuncher said...

What DVD extra's? This was in the "Art of Singerman Peeps" book.

Fear not, I didn't purchase the book. Picked it up and read that part at a Barnes & Nobles. I then proceeded to shoot a snot-rocket onto the page, close it, and put it back on the shelf.

Classic! And why not? Singer did worse to the fans

Sepharih said...

"Bright RED & BLUE wouldn't work on-screen today"

LOL! Tell that to Spider-man.
I would love to show her my color restoration of the film and have her explain to me why those colors "wouldn't work". Have most of you guys seen it already?

Anonymous said...

I seen some of your manips, they're great.

The mock up trailer featuring Welling over Reeve's body and costume looks more like Superman than Routh ever could.

My favorite comment from that costume designer on the DVD "doco" (home movie)about the making of Returns was"We know the mythology goes that his mother made his costume. Well that ends"

She says that as she holds up the dinky boots with S logos on the soles.......

Singer, no fuckin idea

Anonymous said...

"Bright RED & BLUE wouldn't work on-screen today". What. The. Fuck?"

They actually mean the crap TV cameras they used to shoot the "film" can't handle the higher frequency of the reds or render as well in cgi, hence the dull, muted tones of the entire "film"

Technically, this was yet another blunder by Routh when he decided to shoot the movie in HD digital. They're still evolving, the Genesis cameras and were way too new a system for use on such a big budget project.

Sepharih said...

I didn't make the one with Welling actually. I was talking about this:

http://rapidshare.com/files/36645444/NewsuitDemonstration.mov

It's a compilation of clips from a recut I'm doing of the entire film.

"She says that as she holds up the dinky boots with S logos on the soles......."
I had come so close to forgetting that. Horrible. Just absolutely horrible costume design.

Christ, how skinny does Routh look though

He must've been getting into shape to play an emancipated vampire back then

I didn't know Routh directed Returns.

S.S.S.

I'm with you all the way on slamming Singer and his sissy, candy assed looking Superman.
I wish there was a way of expanding your site to extend it's outreach.

I've written a lengthy letter to Sanchez of IESB calling his ass for being such a douche bag liar. I think he and Younis are long lost twin brothers. Both of them are full of shit.

Why the Hell he wanted to spread the rumor about Welling when he hasn't got a Damn bit of evidence to back it up is beyond me.
His posting an email from a total stranger as a "source" tells you that Sanchez hasn't got shit for "inside information".
He can't back his claim about Welling.

The internet can be interesting, man you can buy a ton of shit on Ebay, but for the most part, it seems to be a realm where nothing butliars and Bullshit artists like Steve Younis and Sanchez thrive.

No he didn't, he selected the format that the film was shot in though....

Hey, I fucked up! My attempts of erasing Bryan Singer from my memory must be working

I bet it was one consideration for "Mingenbach" or whatever the fuck her name was. I imagine the conversation went like this:

Asshole Costume Designer: "BS babe, how about this costume? It's got a skirt, high boots, tight in the chest?"

BS: "No. It's red and blue."

BS: "And not GAY enough".
